Hey there
« on: July 16, 2008, 01:42:35 AM »
Hey everyone. My name's Andy. I'm from Memphis, TN.  I'm 21 y/o.  I only got into tennis about a year ago, but it's quickly become my favorite sport. I'm still a beginner and haven't gotten many chances to practice due to not being able to find people to practice with.  I've seen that there are a lot of Nadal fans here so don't hate me for saying that Federer is by far my favorite player.  :))

All the way up to former Wimbledon finalist Chris Lewis, though he hasn't been around since February.

Uh oh.  Testing my knowledge here while i am on vacation.  1982?  Someone will have to confirm.  You can search his name at wikipedia and it will tell you.  He lost to McEnroe in the finals.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

It was in 1983 when Chris Lewis reached the Wimbledon Final where he was defeated 6/2, 6/2, 6/2 to McEnroe.

Wow that's awesome. It sure would be nice to be able to say you've played McEnroe, much less at a Wimbledon Final.

Slightly  :off-topic:
JMac was playing in the WTT here the other night against Gimelstob and Oudsema. He still plays pretty well but is not quite what he was in his glory days :(   .
At one stage there was an "imitate John McEnroe" contest for the audience . My theory that a person has no control over what he/she is best remembered for  :ranting: :cursing: :ranting: was, as you might expect, reinforced. It wasn't tennis.  McEnroe congratulated the winner.

Justin was on his best behavior and Scott Oudsema impressed.

Continuing the off topic nature, what I've seen of J-Mac has solidified my impression of him as a tennis jerk. In exhibition matches he is good natured, but when the match is a tournament environement he is still a punk.
