Those of us here in Columbus had some great games today. I enjoyed myself a lot. Despite my comparative incompetence and frequent mis**ts  (sorry mis-hits) (some of them actually were winners), I didn't do so badly. In Washington, I have a hit session with a local pro each week for an hour and was trying to remember all the things that he tells me such as that it is better to hit a bad shot over the net than into the net so that one at least has a chance of a winner.

For the next week tennis will have to be a spectator sport in Cincy.

We had a great time at the get-together!  Your attitude rocks, always positive and always enjoying yourself (Wait, those two go hand in hand). 

Either way, I was extremely excited that you came out and even more so that you brought you joined in on the tennis!  We make a mean doubles team.  When we are in Cincy tomorrow we can see if the Bryan Brothers want a pick up game for practice.

That does appear to be a major benefit!  I am jealous that you get to see all that action for an entire week.  I am sure it is a totally different experience to get to see the entire tournament as it progresses.

Picked up a racquet today for the first time since Columbus nearly two weeks ago. 
The sedentary life  has not been good for the tennis game and I had a real job getting around the court in addition to just hitting the ball cleanly. It was mixed doubles and relaxed but the score 1-6, 0-6  , 6-4 was not encouraging until the third set when things noticeably improved on all fronts. Still, it was good to be outside on a beautiful day. I expect to play again on Monday morning and to hit on Wednesday with the instructor so will be back in the swing of things, as they say, soon.

Got to play the Monday mens doubles. Evenly matched; we won at 8-6 (nobody wanted to bother with tie-breaks). The set went for an hour and a half. My serve OK, no dfs. Art of the day was to return deep without hitting the ball out. Opponents found those hard to handle. Short balls were fatal with this crowd so tried to avoid sending them!    There was only time for a second set which had to be terminated at 4-2 (OK for us).

Glad to see you are out enjoying the weather AND playing some tennis.  Based on the one afternoon I spent with you, I'd say your game is quite efficient, even though you tried telling us the opposite.  You didn't have any trouble keeping the ball deep that day either.
