OK, so as you may have guessed, I really find these commercials a bit corny.  They make tennis seem so lame.  "Road trip"!  Sports teams are always on the road, what's the big deal?  Plus, there are players in the commercials that aren't even playing this summer (Williams sisters).  I know some of them are a little comical, but I squirm to think that I am associated with a sport that thinks this something that is what people want.  I would rather see commercials based on true tennis, rivalries, examples of great points, close-ups of shots...etc.  These ads are goofy.   I hate to be a bummer, but come on....Please make it seem like tennis is at least a little tough...   End the road trip message and give me something cool...

I like them more than love them.  In Cincy, I got my pic taken in front of that bus.  I made sure to stand next to the guys because I didn't want to drool all over Ana.

I'm with you!  I love them.  The only thing I wish they would have done is when Roger asked Andy if he'd stolen his sandwich, Andy would answer "no", with crumbs all over his mouth!   That would have been a good one. 

I also agree with the USTA to insert McEnroe in place of Justin for those spots!  So that's good!

I agree with you but I am sure there is research or a marketing team that has shown the commercials to be effective at this time.  I guess I feel it is the same old story where the marketing is trying to play up to the non hard core tennis fans.  Tennis must be marketable to the masses and not just the hard core fans.   Then tennis can become big-time and be totally run by the money!

Personally, I like the blood & guts, glory music, highlight reel ads showing players engaged in battle.

I like seeing the off-court stuff as well, but for the soft core fan it helps to put a face with the FH by adding a little character to the playas.

Good points about reaching out to the non-tennis fan and the casual fan....I still think they are really lame though!  To me, seeing Venus saying "Road trip" the way she does just does not represent what is really going on here.  Not to mention that Venus is not even on the road!
