The rankings have now been updated after the Olympic Games and we have just 4 more events this year with the US Open just a week away!

lol Alchemist- I'd love that but I'm still very wary of one of those top 5 winning the US Open and me having a poor showing. A win here at the US Open will guarantee me top spot at the end of the year- so I'm not asking for much

Kick I'd drafted the new rankings out because I wanted to see how close I was to the Year End ranking(needing to be 1750 ahead now to clinch it at this point) so thought I'd save you the job here and update this for you. Also I've got an assessment at work today so I'm trying to take my mind off that, so hope you don't mind mate. You will gladly do it the rest of the year

So after updating the rankings Dallas' US Open win has taken her into the top 5 for the first time, Retro's runners up finished ensured she is now in the top 10. Sid's good US Open has saw him rise to number 4 in the rankins(strange how thats the same as Murray

) Also I am now just 51 points away from guanteeing the Year End Number 1 ranking.

But its pretty lucky I built that lead up as you're coming very quickly these past couple of tournaments Dallas- you've had a great summer

Yeah you've picked it up big time recently Dallas and it seems its no coincidence you've done so when your man has as well

So if he wins Madrid and goes deep and maybe wins Paris, as well as defending his Masters Cup seems the number 2 will be yours

Rankings now updated after Madrid!
I was able to clinch the Year End number 1 position this week in Madrid, while the race for the top 8 really got interesting and there are now just the top 9 who can get a place in Shanghai as the gap down to 10th is too big with just one tournament left.

Rankings updated after Paris Masters!
Kick is upto number 3 now in the rankings after back to back wins in Madrid and Paris. Sid and Somil moved up a place after Paris, while Dallas and Conchita did enough to stay in the top 8 and clinch places in Shanghai at the Masters Cup.

Here's the top 8 now and the 8 players that will be able to play in Shanghai during the Tennis Masters Cup. Huge well done to all 8 players for qualifying
