Nadal's Numbers: 10 amazing clay stats
• 28-0  Nadal's record at the French Open. He had to pull out of the event with an injury the first year he was ranked high enough to play, but returned to win the following year and has been undefeated since.

• 4  The number of consecutive French Open titles Nadal has won. Only Bjorn Borg has matched the feat.

• 41-0   Nadal has never been beaten in any of the 41 best-of-five matches he's played on clay in his career.

• 41  The number of games Nadal lost in seven matches on his way to the title. That averages out to less than six per match. The greatest number of games he lost in any one match was 12 to Novak Djokovic in the semifinals.

• 6  The number of sets Nadal has dropped at the rench Open during the past four years. He lost none this year and has never lost more than one in any given match.

• 22-1 His career record in clay finals. His only loss was to Roger Federer in Hamburg last year.

• 22-1  Nadal's record on clay this year. He lost to Juan Carlos Ferrero at Rome in a match where he was hampered by blisters

• 115-2  Nadal's record on clay since April 2005, when he lost in Valencia to Igor Andreev

• 155-14 Nadal's career record on clay. His overall career record is 297-73

• 2  The number of times Nadal says he has really become nervous during a match at the French Open - a 6-4, 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 win against Sebastien Grosjean in the fourth round three years ago and a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 win against Paul-Henri Mathieu in the third round two years ago. "A little bit against Mathieu first set, 2006... Against Grosjean with the problem with the crowd, 2005," he said . "No more times, I think."

Federer: I'm still the favourite

"I still definitely feel very strong about my chances and being the big favourite going into grass," Federer told Reuters.

“ I also feel how much Rafa has progressed on clay, but we'll see in the future if he is stronger on grass or on hard surfaces."

He was slaughtered to pieces at the hands of nadal and why is this fellow so overconfident? Is it his insecurity feeling or what, to time and again come up with such comments on his opponents? Doesn't he know Rafa's potential on grass to comment on him like that? strange........

I don't know...but do you think it has something to do with this:

54 consecutive matches won on grass :innocent:  Just saying that might have a little to do with his being confident on grass....maybe... :innocent:
still, that is not the way i feel......he is only making himself look ordinary with such comments.......

yes, great stats n good work by Dallas......the above stat is a stunner really.i won't be surprised a bit even if he remains unbeaten in best-of-5 sets matches on clay at least in the next 5 yrs.......

Nadal serves up an ominous warning: I play my best tennis on grass

Rafael Nadal has ominously declared that he plays his best tennis on grass.

The Spaniard claimed his  fourth French Open title last week on the clay of Roland
Garros and is yet to win a major away from Paris.

Despite being considered a clay court specialist Nadal hit back at claims made by
former Wimbledon champion Michael Stich that he is not capable of winning at SW19
this year.

Better on grass: Nadal serves up a warning
He said: “I know the grass is a difficult surface for me but I probably play my best tennis on this surface. It is important to play well on every surface and Wimbledon is a very important tournament. I am still young and have to continue to improve.

“I have four Grand Slams already and I want to have more, if it’s possible, on a different surface.”

Nadal pointed to last year’s final against world No1 Roger Federer, who edged a five-set classic, as proof he can adapt to the quicker surface.

“My best memory of playing on grass is at the same time the worst - the final last year at Wimbledon,” said Nadal, who faces Japan’s Kei Nishikori at Queen’s today.

“I played an unbelievable match but at the same time I lost a good chance to win my
favourite tournament.”

If Nadal stays healthy he will have at least one Wimbledon trophy on the mantle after his career.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

in fact rafa himself admitted that wimbledon 2007 final, despite he lost, is his best match so far in his career.he said that he was surprised by himself with such high standard performance in the final on a surface where he himself thought would take him some time to adapt to......now that's the winning spirit......

is michael stitch somewhat grrrrr? he made somewhat negative remarks on serena williams during the last yr wimby too for which serena responded strongly.......also in the 90s he made some unpleasant comments on sampras indirectly......

superb display by the king........ousting the 4-time queen's champion roddick in straight sets.......7-5,6-4.......he served well and i am impressed by the way he handled roddick's serve.......stood close to the baseline and stood almost at the baseline to roddick's second serve most of the times.......that means he is working on his return game as well.......intelligent fella.....once again that OFF-FOREHAND is just brilliant, he's got that back for sure......i think the time has come for our king to win his maiden grass court title.......VAMOS RAFA!!!

It's only 5 :)

Nadal was simply awesome today, and considering Wimledon suits his game even more, all the Rafa fans should be confident going into Wimbledon. Congrats Rafa!

ya, wimbledon is just ours now i feel.......he's improving his all court game and i have always maintained that he is a good enough volleyer to be the second best in that aspect after feddy.......fed won the halle....that should be some respite for him.......like i have always felt regardless of surface, even now djokovic is seeming a bigger threat to feddy than to rafa.......the wimby draw is awaited like nuts.......
