You're telling that to the guy who made those highlights  :rofl_2: Well, I'm sorry, I think it might have been the very first highlights that I did, and that was the quality of the video I started with. Now if someone can find me the links to the high quality video (I know they exist, somewhere), I might reconsider. But it was about 4 hours long, so it'll be a tough call. Or you can combine these two highlights together:

Okay, so I did some research while I was writing this post, and I found this:

I don't care too much for the music video, but this ESPN2 footage of this match is pretty fantastic, IMO. Now, if someone can find this ESPN2 footage for me, I may be able to do something about it. Or you can just stick with federermagic's highlights, of course.


I know you did those highlights and really thank you very much but that match is so beautiful that i think must deserve a better quality don't you agree?

yes, there are other versions.  Eurosport (and in my opinion, the best quality hands down):

http://t3nnis.tv/details.php?id=185  ( I believe this is the same one you used, and the one in youtube x264 avi)

To sum it up, if you do actually re-do them, definitely go with the Eurosport (first one).  The picture is super clear.  The only up-side of the ESPN version is if you crop out the ticker @ the bottom, you get a nice picture with no intrusive eurosport logo.  But with all things considered, the Eurosport one has far better quality, but the aspect ratio is slightly on the skinny side, I would resize it to 4:3.

it's mp4, I don't know if that means it's a different version.  But dyraise's uploads are always pretty good.

And I found out how to automate RS downloading.  Just get jdownload http://jdownloader.org/download

I'm sure there are other software that are easier(will look into those) but I have this one and it worked fine.  I just copy and paste the multiple links onto their clipboard and leave my computer on overnight.  Next day, it's done!  It's no premium hack by any means, it just does all the downloading and waiting for their 15 min limit for you!!

screw it :rofl_2:  Just found out that window users have an award winning software called flashget which does essentially the same thing.

Are those links always valid, or do rapidshare and megaupload eventually delete the content? Looks like my HD is getting packed with tennis content... so, I'm thinking, what if I start deleting highlights, while relying on this thread to be able to re-download highlights at any time again!?

they eventually delete the content. I think rapidshare has a shorter retention time than megaupload. I've seen megaupload links last for more than a year. If people don't download the files, they will be deleted after 60 or 90 days, not sure which. I can upload some of the Fed highlights if the links expire, but I probably won't have much of the other ones.

Good news for all non-Federer fans:
I've decided to make highlights of all my not-Federer matches. that way I can clear up some of my hard disk space by deleting the full matches after making highlights (down to 3.87GB on my portable and 23.53GB on my mac).   

Need more space for vintage Fed matches ;)

Great news! I'm surprised this thread is even caled "the official ATP tennis match highlights thread" since 95% of the highlights here relate to a certain Swiss player.  :rofl_2: as much as that suits me just fine, i'd love to have some non-Fed highlights too. Or even better, vintage match highlights, in the mood for Agassi right now.
