For people who want to talk about players other than the Fab 4. ;-()

So who thinks Safin's got a chance for another big upset? Does Hewitt have anything in him for another run? Can my Korolev win a match? Can James defend his quarterfinal? Can Andy somehow get his way back into the top 6 with a big run at the AO? He lost in the 3rd round and could really rack up some points.

roddick can fly low and under the radar there. hopefully he can sneak into the quarters and see what happens.

safin and blake are too inconsistent. no telling if they can win more than 2 matches each there and that is only because they will get clowns in the early rounds.

here is a match for you bgt:

would it not be grand if Roddick met Fed in the quarters and it went the full distance with the American coming out ahead?

Roddick got that old monkey off his back in Miami. now its time to do it again. they may even play in Abu Dhabi.

Well let's see how long this thread stays on the front page

It will stay on the front page, but it will likely morph into something like this...

Dallas: "Just as I suspected, this thread nearly fell off the front page   I better post something."
Chris: "Yeah Dallas, I predicted that even before you said anything."   :rofl_2:  :rofl_2:

That would be a :cloud 9: But I think I'd be happier with a win over the #4.... it's a bit more personal for a GasdickTard. :innocent:

In the Favorite Players of 2008 competition on MTF (as of now), Murray is #14 and Gasquet is #5. Pretty amazing considering the stellar and less than stellar results the two have had, don't ya think? ;-()

I suspect Safin and Hewitt will fade into obscurity. Roddick and Blake especially, will hang around despite unspectacular results. Here are the guys who have to answer my questions.

12  12 David Ferrer Spain 1695.00  -- I think it's a one way ride for David. I don't see him as a guy who return to the top.

15  16 Fernando Gonzalez Chile 1420.00  -- He's about a year or two away from dropping off, but I hope not

20  20 Tomas Berdych Czech Republic 1215.00   -- Just because, but I think we all know the answer

21  21 Tommy Robredo Spain 1195.00  -- He, too, is on his last leg, but is a tough out

 24  24 Richard Gasquet France 1160.00  -- oh come on   ..-)

 25  26 Ivo Karlovic Croatia 1140.00  -- I'd sell his stock

26  27 Radek Stepanek Czech Republic 1130.00  -- will he start to take his career seriously in 2009?

 37  37 Simone Bolelli Italy 889.00  -- still unproven

38  38 Nicolas Kiefer Germany 885.00  -- always intrigues me

39  39 Jarkko Nieminen Finland 880.00  -- on his way out? likely

40  40 Sam Querrey United States 870.00 and Donald Young  -- just because

Sam and Marin are the real deal. I know I'm the only Cilic fan here, but I'm so impressed with this guy. I think he'll have a way better career than Ljubicic and Ancic and will be top 10 next year.

Cilic isn't a ? for me, but Sam sure is. I'm not sure why he isn't in the top 20-15, but he's far from it. Big :dunno: around Sam.

i am high on Cilic. he has some serious potential. he just needs to bulk up a bit and get more mileage out of his serve on quicker courts.

Okay, Sam should be around guys like Soderling--inside top 20. He's got more than 20 spots to jump.

He needs to get the hitch out of his forehand as well.

You're the only Cilic fan? You might wnat to check who has started and posted stuff in the Marin Cilic thread  I was the only one to pick Cilic to the quarters last year at the AO .. unfortunately Blake took him out in the 4th. Same happened in Wimbledon, I picked quarters and he lost to someone in the 4th.

I am definitely feeling a breakthrough for this guy and sure do hope he has a better career than his compatriots cuz he has the game.
