Ok after all great wishes to Fed and appreciation which Roger definitely deserves, here's an huge hurray!  :yay: for the bravehearted Soderling!!
What an amazing and magnificent two weeks for Robin,I guess no one expected such a display that he showed.Beautiful end with an awesome speech in the final ! So congrats Soderling, once again!  :toot:
Let's see how he does on grass now!!! :scared:
Will he have enough time to set up those big shots? :dunno:
Will his serve be even more potent? :)>>>>
His confidence should be at an all time high! :))

Affirmative !!  :)

He will lose in early stages at Wimby may be max. in 3rd round, b'coz
1)he won't have enough time to set-up his shots with big back-swing &
2)the ball is not going to bounce high in his hitting zone.
And his movement will be far more exposed on grass than on clay

Sounds reasonable to me.
His volleys didn't look sharp enough to me for him to play that style consistently either.

Perhaps that as well.
Nice to hear in his post final interview that he recognizes that as a weakness and is working to improve.  Hoping to crack the top 10.
CONK da ball!!!

Who will be the next player to record a top 4 position?  i.e. eject 1 of the above 4 mentioned.

I pick Roddick.

In terms of GS performance, Andy is the #3 player in 2009. In terms of all around performance, Andy is #4 on the year.

This is an interesting quote from Andy and proves why I love Brooklyn for him. :))

“I was probably leaning towards not really playing that well,” Roddick said prior to the final.  “She didn’t know much about tennis - she thought I was playing really great.  Anyway, she thought I looked cute in shorts.  Brook has been a calming influence and someone that I can confide in and not have to put on a super-brave front to.  And you know, she makes the players’ box better-looking.”

Couple of big wins, Berdych up next. That would definitely put Brands on the map.

I've got one, too, from April 2009!

I thought Mattek had a chance to defeat both Benesova and Kvitova, but she was the weakest person on the court.

I did too. I don't think Mattek is much more than top 20-25, but I thought last year was a break-out year for her. I watched Kvitova blow her off the court. Petra looked like she's got big weapons and could be an up-and-comer.

If everything is going according to plan, we should see him at least at USO, if not before..  ;-()
