Joe the Plumber to become war correspondent

TOLEDO, Ohio – Joe The Plumber is putting down his wrenches and picking up a reporter's notebook.

The Ohio man who became a household name during the presidential campaign says he is heading to Israel as a war correspondent for the conservative Web site pjtv.com.

Samuel J. Wurzelbacher (WUR'-zuhl-bah-kur) says he'll spend 10 days covering the fighting.

He tells WNWO-TV in Toledo that he wants to let Israel's "'Average Joes' share their story."

Wurzelbacher gained attention during the final weeks of the campaign when he asked Barack Obama about his tax plan.

He later joined Republican John McCain on the campaign trail. At one stop, he agreed with a McCain supporter who asked if he believed a vote for Obama was a vote for the death of Israel.

I'm with you!   :mad1:
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

Actually, he probably does. Actually, I think many Republicans want to bury their head in the sand every time they see him and Palin pretending they are the voice of the Republican Gen-X. At least, I should hope many self-respecting Republicans do... oops! oxymoron!

If Blago said he was appointing himself Senator tomorrow, guess who'd get all the media coverage.

This, for me, isn't about Republicans & Democrates. This about the media plucking some guy who got a little noteriety (rightly or wrongly) and making him a reporter in Iraq.
This is about the stupidity of celebrity. The Cult of Personality.

Totally agree, that's why I offered Blago. There already talk about making a movie about my Dem governor. He's a cult-figure in no one's mind but his own, and that's what makes him a "facinating" subject.

 :rofl_2:

I have a feeling that this is going to follow me.

After checking the etymology of the word chock, I now realize that it hasn't nothing at all to do with chalk. No wonder that person didn't know what the heck I was talking about. :tease: :rofl_2:

That's probably true for the vast majority. It seems the older I get, the more disillusioned I've become with politics.
