Brett Favre Retires
« on: February 11, 2009, 08:41:40 AM »
I'm listening to Chris Mortenson break the story that Brett Favre is not coming back to the NFL next year. He has instructed his agent to tell the Jets he is done.

An ambition fulfilled
And is the sawdust jealous?
I worry about these things .

A year too far for me. I hoped he wasn't going to come back last year because he would have very little to gain from it. I wish he'd stuck to it last year and not caused all the fuss and bad feeling with his Packers. Also the Jets have lost a really good QB in Pennington for the sake of 1 Favre season.

The Jets now have absolutely no good QB.  Typical Jets....it sounded good at the time (getting Favre), but ultimately turned out to be a big letdown.  I don't think most of the fans were very excited about him returning anyway....

well said! I was not excited since he came from the Packers last season.

Clements is my guy!

I love his announcement being under the radar. He got the message: No more tears!  :rofl_2:

Now they have no QB and a bunch of hurt egos from last season's nosedive. I think Aaron Rodgers will be much better next season. I thought he did well given the circumstances.
I lost the will to live mid way through the first set!

The most overrated qb of alltime!  Good ridance.
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

Agreed.  Favre never should have returned last season at all in the first place.   While you knew someone would bite, whoever did would ultimately wind up the fool for doing so.
