f**k   ME!  :cursing: :ranting:

Argh! I got popped again! $50 for street sweeping! :ranting:  So I went out and made a table of all the parking restrictions on all the neighboring streets. Keep in mind, I'm ususually looking for parking after 11pm and the signs aren't always easy to locate.  :mad1: Now, most of this isn't as bad as it looks. In most cases, they'll post notices that they are street sweeping a couple of days before the 2nd Thur or 2nd Fri rolls around. But if the sign indicates they sweep every week, good luck! (1) I just got nailed for Tue--no notice posted. (2) The previous ticket I got for parking at a meter just after 7a during rush hour.

Chicago is apparently the best liveable city in the world. San Francisco came 3rd, NY came in 6th place. In that case, all these parking problems aren't making much sense. I am so disappointed NY came 6th. I think Barcelona (why not Madrid?) came in 2nd place and Sydney, Australia 4th. Toronto didn't make the top ten list but Hong Kong did. Go figure. I've been to both places and I honestly didn't feel HK as liveable. Oh well. Oh both Berlin, Germany and Copenhagen, Denmark made the list too. I've never met a person who went to Denmark other than my father but then again, he'd been almost everywhere except for Canada.

Well, I should say, not all of Chicago has these problems. I live just off the lake amongst towering high rises, so street parking is at a premium. You go a mile west, and there's no problem. So my problems aren't really representatvie.  :)

My buddy and I took a road trip to Toronto in 1991. It's a great city. The first thing that stuck with me is that it's very culturally diverse. That was   One night, we went to a warehouse club, back when warehouse clubs were en vouge. The next day, we hung out at Café Au Lait. That's pretty much all I recall. Very good first impression. :H

Chicago does have a lot of wonderful parking rules (and fines to go with them) I am glad I don't live in an area where parking is such a pain.

Just like most other major cities really Emma  :)) London is 1 of the big 3 world cities many would say. Difference is we are already 'guaranteed' the Games, Chicago aren't  :)~

Okay, so I was pulling your legs. Guilty.  :)) I do love London. One of my favourite cities in the world. I was there twice but only stayed for a brief period of time, so didn't get to see much. I will go there for a week or so hopefully next year.

I actually like Chicago in the summer.  I've been there during the summer and unfortunately in the winter and I almost died in the winter!   :(
