First of all, my apologies for also posting this in Tennis Discussion earlier. I didn't see the introduction thread at first. My bad.
Hi. I hope everyone is well. This is my first post on this website. I have been a member of a couple of other forums for a while, and enjoy a lot of the discussions. I wanted to introduce myself first.
I am now 31, and have been playing tennis since I was about 11. I never really played any juniors tournaments before or during high school. I played High School tennis and a couple years at a D3 Junior College in MA.
After that, I started travelling as an umpire. I now hold an ITF Silver Badge Chair Umpire certification. I have worked since 1997 at 26 grand slams, 2 Olympics, 1 Masters Cup, Davis Cup, and many tour events and challengers. I recently cut back quite a lot on how much I am officiating and now have a regular full time job at home.
One of the things I like about the web forums, is that a lot of people have questions on rulings, whether it be in an amateur match that they are playing in or in a pro match that they watch on TV. Please feel to let me know of any questions you may have regarding rules, procedures, officiating or anything like that. I will do my best to answer anything I can for you.
I also, from time to time, like to post up rules quizzes. Sometimes, the amateur players have situations that come up and don't know what the correct ruling is. So these quizzes may help you understand the rules better. I also put some up with pro stuff that make you think a bit.
