I'm delighted with Maria's draw really because as the number 29 seed she would face 1 of the top 8 seeds in the 3rd round and I'll definitely take the Dementieva matchup. Maria will be much fresher if they both get through to this match and will be eager to get her excellent record with Dementieva back on track. To face Pironkova 1st round, then Hercoq or McHale in the 2nd round, then Dementieva, followed by possibly Petrova, Kuznetsova and maybe a Semi with Safina you gotta be pleased with this one. This looks like it could be a real Russian battle if it goes with seeds, Maria will be very happy with the way this draw has panned out.

Yeah I'm pretty pleased with that draw Victoria has got. First 4 rounds you couldn't really have asked for a better draw to be honest and by that time Vika will crucially have matches in her and some confidence before the possible Williams show downs. Not a bad draw here for Vika.

Elena V has a decent draw for her first Slam as a seed with a possible 3rd round match with Zvonareva.

Maria K has a qualifier in round 1 and then a tough match with Agnieszka Radwanska in round 2.

While Kateryna has a tough 1st round match with Ivanovic but if Kateryna is on and Ivanovic is still very patchy as she seems to be now we could see an upset here.

. Maybe she should win the USO. Somehow I know that if Masha does well, Nole will do well too

Definitely both be supporting Maria all the way Alex

OMG how good would that be for Maria to actually win the Open, but still Maria's building her game and confidence up again and I feel 7 matches at a Slam is stil a bit early for Maria. Just needs to stay fit and keep that shoulder healthy for the rest of the year and then in the offseason can work on everything, in particular the serve and hit the ground running in 2010 and in Australia

I'll gladly like to see Djoko do well to if it means Maria goes a long way too

Such a tough loss for Laura that

would have been great for her to earn her right in the main draw with 3 qualifying wins. Still good progression and experience and soon she'll be making Slams main draws all the time. Concentrate on the Juniors now for Laura.

Victoria first up on the Louis Armstrong Court

meaning all going well for Vika I'll get to see her 3rd round match on the Friday

Maria Kirilenko is first up too on Court 6, so 2 wins for Maria K and I'll get to see her for the first ever time on Friday

Elena V also starts on Monday out on Court 8, the last match of the day, and again 2 wins for Elena and I'll get to see her again

I'll not be on here after tomorrow afternoon BST so better look to Tuesday too.
So that means Tuesday Maria will start

so if Maria can get through that 1st round match then I'll get to see her play on the Thursday in her 2nd round match. Be a dream to see Maria play again, just can't wait

Kateryna will also get her campaign underway then on Tuesday, very tough match though but one she could cause an upset in and if she does again I can see her on Thursday
