Oudin still alive!  Just held for 5-4 in the second.  She needs to see a third set though to keep the dream alive...

Petrova needs to get her butt to the net on those shorter balls when she gets a chance.  I wonder if players realize the net is actually not that bad of a place to be...

I like this behind the shoulder camera angle they're using in this match.  Also liking Oudin's use of the slice as something more then and emergency reaching shot.

Oudin is hanging in there nicely!

However she leaves this tourney, win or lose today or win the title, she has a new fan right here!  I like her game, I like her attitude, etc.  I hope we get a chance to see a lot more of her in the future.

3-2, Petrova crumbled with some DFs...

Yeah, it is good to see Kim C back as well.  This has been a great US Open so far!

Oudin takes the 3rd set.  She moves on to the QFs!  Best of luck to her!!!

I can't even believe Dulko got a beatdown like that. wow.

As for Oudin, wooooooooow. I like this girl. She's got a nice personality and a nice game. She reminds me of Henin the way she moves on that court and stuff. I like her for the finals.
I can't even believe how pathetic the top half of the womens draw is. It's a joke.

Sadly enough, most pros only venture to the net to shake hands at the end of a match.... :(

Since her comeback Kim has been coming a lot more to the net than she used to do and it has payed off. More players should go and play doubles and thus improve their volleys and smashes. It's a little extra work but it pays off given time.

But more importantly: Yanina got through! She nearly gave a 5-2 lead in the third set away, but managed to pull herself together just in time.

Next up is Bondarenko, who won their last match and steamrolled past Dulko to get to the quarters. It'll be a very tough match for Yanina, but she can only try and play her best tennis. This is the first time she got past the second round at a slam and she should just try and savour every moment of it.

I am just hoping for good tennis to watch from women side. Less crying, self destruct , double faults, UE. So I am hoping Serena VS Kim in semifinal. And whoever win between them will meet (hopefully) Sveta in final. Cause I cannot see Yanina, Bondarenko or Oudin can give  Kim or specially Serena a real fight in final.

I really do not want to see a final like Aussie Open and French Open 09 and Wimbledon 09 final (second set) again. Not interesting at all.

Kudos to Oudin but Petrova chocked as she does very often. She could have over powered Oudin ... I'm happy for her. I like her style and her personality.
