Wozniacki-Wickmayer   :rofl_2:

No, this isn't the future of women's tennis.
Wickmayer has a serve unlike 98% of tour.

I didn't see anything remarkable about her at all. What did you see?

Please beat her Caroline. I'm already tired of the Oudin hype.

Go Oudin!  I'm so tired of the anti-hype hype!!!   ..-)

What's the big deal? I'm tired of hearing her name. They're commentating the other women, and they talk about her. They're commentating the men, and they're talking about. Front page of Yahoo, all over CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News.... hell, I culdn't even escape this from Perez Hilton and The Frisky. Goodness! ..-)

It's not a big deal at all!  I'm just as tired of everyone talking about how overhyped everyone is.  Seems like every other comment on here is someone talking about how they want Murray or Oudin to lose because they're so overhyped.  Because the experts all picked them to win.  Who cares what the experts say?  Anyway, I'm OK with Woz winning, she's hot, and isn't that the most important part of women's tennis anyway?   ..-)
Good luck on the court is nice to have, but it's usually extraneous when playing against Baker.

I had to root for Wickmayer in SF just because she had attack style rather than Wozniacki almost total defend style. But Wozniacki defend style that made her reach SF and win 3 titles this year.

If Caroline gets to the final and it's against Serena i wouldn't be at all surprised to see a bagel set and to be honest i wouldn't mind seeing a style like that get blasted off the court even though i'm no fan of Serena.

Caroline has a very high pitch voice. She stars at C level. At first I thought she was crying when I wasn't looking after the match. Anyway, Oudin's run had to end somewhere. She had an outstanding tournament. Good for her.

Serena d Caroline at Sydney 6-7(5) 6-3 7-6(3) earlier this year. People with no pace and hit up the middle still bother Serena. And yes I am aware that it was WTA event and not a grandslam.

Wta has to be a joke and it is a joke, but give some credit to Caroline after all. Doesn't she have the most played matches this year, and still doing great. Hers efforts are finally being payed off. And probably more is still to come from her  ;-()

JOke or no joke, this is the condition of WTA players right now. At least Wozniacki did not made tons of double fault or self destructs  like Vera Z did. She play a sensible defense game that turn out still had a place in women top 10 game. Like I said earlier, she already win 3 titles this year which is very good for a 19 years old player.

But the winner of Serena VS KIm match will surely win US Open title. And we will have another one sided GS final. *sigh*

And  I read somewhere that  some people agree with women players play five sets at GS. Can you imagine the melt downs, maybe over 50 Double faults and probably over 100 Unforced errors? I am shivering just to picture that.  :rofl_2:

yeah she was talking about Caroline's next opponent, Wickmayer, and saying it like she is a nobody, she's not a somebody yet but it was very un-classy the way she presented it.

Wickmayer isn't special, she tries to smash the ball but has a bad temper which might show up against Wozniaki's defense. Maybe Caroline won't have to do anything to win her next match too.

Shriver also insisted that Oudin talks to the crowd.  Oudin kept saying "Right now?!?!", "I don't know if I can talk right now", Shriver just ignored and moved on..  And then like MONKY said, she pronounced Wickmayer's name like if she was a pushover.  Not a good evening for Shriver..

Kateryna going down to Wickmayer  :(  :( I'm really disappointed here because this was just such a huge chance for Kateryna to get to a Slam Semi and maybe even a Slam Final but yesterday she just didn't do herself justice. From 2 days previously where she completely destroyed Dulko 6/0, 6/0 Kateryna just didn't get close to that level today. Too many errors unfortunately and not taking her chances enough when they were presented. Up 4/1 in the 2nd and a breakpoint for 5/1 was where this match was lost, after that Kateryna really let this one slip quickly. But at the same time if you'd said quarter final for Kateryna at the start I'd have snapped your hand off for it. So such a fantastic run for Kateryna, good experience and a much improved ranking. Lots to build on now for the end of the season and going forward to 2010 :)

Really great win for Yanina! Things went more easily for her yesterday than against Kvitova, and she showed mental fortitude by coming back in the second set from 1-4 down. She had lost her last two matches against Bondarenko, who had blown Dulko off the court a round earlier, so I was a little worried but luckily Yanina came through in straight sets.

Next up is Wozniacki, whom I haven't seen yet, but hey - TWO Belgians in the final four and one in the 4th round??? Before this tournament began I was wondering if we'd even have a player in the second round :))! Regardless of the final results, this tournament has already been such a success for us. Yanina reaching the last four in her seventh GS main draw, Kim back at the highest level in just her third tournament and Kirsten netting some nice wins before falling to Kim in her best GS performance to date.

Go Belgium!  :grind dance: :thumbs-up:

From what I've heard, she said something like "you were the favourite today, but you'll be even more of a favourite in the semis against 'Wickmeyerrrrr'". The condescending way in which she pronounced Yanina's name was very tactless and disrespectful, and the crowd reacted to that. Quite rightly IMO.
