what do you think about the chances to build a new tennis stadium instead of just a roof???
NY My Entire Team Sucks, aka Mets, just built a new ballpark in front of Flushing Meadows
I think you've got it right, conchi. A new stadium would be the route.
Actually, I'd hate to see them change a thing. What's good for the TV viewer and tennis player isn't good for the spectator. The USO is the most fan friendly of all the slams (though I would like to see them adopt the resale policy Wimbledon has
I'd like to see them put money into the outside courts -- like I've said before, create a bridge between the courts a la that between courts 2 and 3 at RG.

There are several places to these construct bridges at the Open.

Beyond that, unlike other slams, all venues are general admission through the first four rounds except Ashe. With a grounds pass, you can go to every venue but Ashe. With a ticket for Ashe, you can go to every venue. Ashe, however, does have a different ticket for the day and night sessions, but those are the only restrictions. At RG, I had to buy one ticket for Court 1 and another ticket for Phillipe Chartrier. Of course, Suzanne Lenglen requires yet another ticket. I thought that sucked.
And the cost won't be passed on to you, it will be passed on to me. So, on behalf of the real fans, let me be the first to say to the rest of yous...

thank you very much for the music video, Pretenders are one of my fav. bands and I have not listen to them in years.

I agree about the ny fans, they are sensational, just like at the AO and Wimby but the american crowd has a lot more passion to the game. they are not silent at all.
the ovation to Nadal when he felt to his knees after the final was one of the most amazing moments in sports in recent time.
I do love the policy of tickets of the USO, it's great because there are plenty of fans on the other courts.
I am not going to talk about Roland Garros, I do not like the slam at all.
thanks for the pic of court 2 and 3 at RG, they are the best courts to watch and feel the matches, you are just 5 meters from the players.
I still remember the great pics you posted of court 6 (or was it 7?) between Nico and Murray.
I totally agree about building some different outside courts at the USO with bridges. It's impossible to know if you are watching a match at court 7, 10, 11 or 13, they are all the same. Wimby has probably made a mistake with the new court 3, the graveyard, it's identical to the new Court 2, where court 13 was and what is more, one of the most iconic place at Wimby is gone, the crown's nest.
about bridges connecting the courts, I will leave the last row of courts as they are now, court 8,9, 10 and then court 13, 14,15,16 but I will try to built something different between Courts 6-7 and courts 11-12. that will make 5 great outside courts.
In my opinion the best courts at the majors are:
Flinders Park, MCA and Court 6.
Roland Garros, Courts 2,3.
Wimby, court 18 but the two best are sadly gone, old court 1, old graveyard.
USO, Grandstand.
was there a lot of talk during the USO about problems to sell tickets to go into Ashe? I remember some comments saying they were even problems to sell tickets to nfl games, I think they were talking about the new Giants/Jets stadium.
