need some help

guys
i have a tennis match 720p 59.970 fps
how can i convert it to SD with lower frame rate because some people want its hls in SD
any help will be appreciated

But you are still going to make HD highlights right??   What I recommend doing is make your HD highlight like you normally do then convert your finished HD highlight down to SD and upload both versions.

mpeg streamclip is pretty good for downscaling.  

here's a some pretty good settings for "SD" or rather what I like to call "mini-HD"



for FPS change according to what your source was.
50 --> 25
60 --> 30

if you are working with an HD that is already normal fps (30 or 25) then leave that field blank, because you don't need to change anything.  

another note, mpeg streamclip takes forever to encode avc to avc, probably 3 hours for a 10 min file

Wow! dunno I'd have that patience - though I suppose you could start it and go to sleep... just knowing it would take that long would make me impatient (and sleepy)  :ZZZZZ)

^^that's what I usually do, leave it on overnight... or put on headphones to drown out the CPU's obnoxious fan.

haha, it's kinda sad that I sometimes watch the progress bar for about 2 mins just to make sure it's working

or when muxing it to mp4 it doesn't open
and i don not have x264 settings

As far as I'm concerned, I use ffmpeg to convert video files.
But it's a command line tool, so it's not very easy at the beginning.
You can use WinFF, which is a  frontend for ffmpeg.
Right now, I don't have time to explain you all in details but if you have questions, just ask and I'll try to answer.

oh.. you have to open the mkv in quicktime and save as a reference .mov    Then open the .mov in mpegstreamclip

but Guarin is right, ffmpegX is a great tool also.  I have a GUI version

well i can do an SD version in the same fps
but i think the HD version will be enough
and i can't open matroska in quicktime
