Hi all I have this match from last years Basel Final, a friend recorded it for my on the Sky Hard disk recorder so I have it as an 8gig DVR file. I've tried converting to AVI but there's really bad sync issues

Any suggestions how to get a perfect synced conversion? Also would people be interested in this match?

I do, very much  I am no expert here but I normally use VirtualDub (Or VirtualDubMod) in combination with K-Lite Codec Pack (5.x version better) to encode the video in X264 format. Wish you will be able to code and share it.

This year, when I downloaded a match in HD (I'm not used to take HD matches but sometimes I'm not satisfied with standard quality especially on clay, then I take the match in HD and convert it myself in SD), I use mediacoder for converting it in xvid/avi for a smaller size and keep a good quality (and to have a file which can be playable with old systems, it is not always possible with h264 codec), this software allows you to set your multiplexer and remuxer, maybe it can help you!

You can try my parameters maybe it will work for you :

You can change aspect ratio, size of the picture in "picture" but I suggest you to keep the original framerate.

mediacoder is able to convert any format! But you will often need to find the good settings for having no bug with the software and to get a good result, I always work on a sample of the original video before convert the whole file.

I used mediacoder to convet my DVR file and the conversion file still had the audio of out of sync, any ideas? The original file plays fine the whole way through no sync issues at all!

I'm not a specialist! The only idea that I have is to copy audio and video streams of your converted file with a delay (you will have to make some tests to estimate it) between them if it is a constant gap!

if not constant use goldwave to stretch the audio and mux it with the converted avi or mp4

Guess you must be new here, Alsinator. True, we don't like commentators who talk through everything - no matter WHAT the language - but we DO appreciate the efforts of anyone who takes the time and effort to post a link to a match, whether it's in Czech, Chinese or double Dutch

no, I've actually been here for like 2 years, barbadosan.  I always make sure i never download anything other than English.
From what I've heard all the other languages have $H!T3 commentary.  That they basically can't control their urges whilst a point is going, and when the point goes longer and longer they start getting convulsions and start yelling players names mixed with chings/chongs/partidos and quindici's......ocasionally they just can't keep it in and explode..down there..and let all the viewers know by shouting players names and random european non-english Krap.  And for those who watch NBC coverage of events, you have probably heard that retard Ted Robinson with chameleon eyes that seem to want to just drop out of his head, cuz they can't seem to stop rolling around.    Stab his eyes                   And someone remove those thumb tac's holding up his smile.

there's no delay on the original file, i'll have to work out when the delay kicks in as its not at the start. Hopefully have this file uploaded by the Basel 09 final happens

right there's an 850MB AVI here - the sound is a bit delayed from the start but if you're using VLC player just hit 'Ctrl L' to delay the sound and 'Ctrl K' to pre-delay.
