Thank you so much I really wanted to know this.  Only thing is that for some videos it lags.  Is there something I am missing?

Thanks for your information.  What if I cannot find CoreAVC from the filter list?  It's strange that I find CoreAVC in my PC but I can't find it in my notebook.  Do I need to download it somewhere?

actually it lags when doing that and before doing it it was better than now

It's one video where I have few problems with CoreAVC 'the RG 2009 Final 720p'
I am using ffdshow video decoder with it and It seems to be working fine
there is maybe (I am not sure) some freezes but it almost unnoticeable
but with all other videos CoreAVC is fine

I know this thread has been posted a while ago
but does CoreAVC have thumbnail generation problem that causes explorer to crash? if yes how to solve it?

Yeah I know that, sometimes explorer crashes during thumbnails gen!
Don't know what to do in your case. I use the k-lite codec pack and I didn't tick thumbnail generation for .mkv and .mp4, so that i'm sure there won't be any problem now!

so you're using CoreAVC and you've disables thumbnails generation?

I don't think coreavc is included in the k-lite codec pack, I don't use coreavc, but maybe you can disable the thumbnail generation somewhere (that's what I did when I had issues with explorer and some video with k-lite), at worst in windows registry.

I'll just use the internal decoders because I don't see any difference when using CoreAVC

I don't think  it depend on software you are using, the key thing is code video, you need code video for HD video. When you have enough, you can use windows media player or any software to enjoy your video HD. I always use windows media player or media center of windows 7 to play HD movie, HD tennis matches and i feel very comfortable !

The CoreAVC and media player link has expired. Could someone please reuplaod it or at least the CoreAVC filter? I have beeen itching to play Nature HD and I can play it at about 0.75 x speed smmothly but not smoothly at normal speed. This would be great. Thanks!

Couldn't it really depend on the RAM or just your computer? Like if it's bad, it's just bad.
