New York Red Bulls Set To Announce New Designated Player, Likely former Arsenal great Thierry Henry

:thumbs-up:

That would be another really good coup for the USA to see a former world footballer of the year Henry playing over there, especially at New York. A friend bought me a Red Bull New York home shirt because of my love for the city so maybe I could have Henry on the back  :rofl_2:

Chicago just got 3 point on their trip to LA, beating the Galaxy 3-2. Fire got all three goals in the game's first 20' while both Galaxy goals came via PK.

Philly's Sebastien Le Toux scores again for the Union; he moves into a tie for 3nd on the scoring list.

Something more to smile about, this weekend, Chris. Final week of the regular season and New York has clinched their conference title and will be the #2 seeded team in the playoffs. Los Angeles and Real Salt Lake will determine which team gets the #1 seed after their games this weekend.

A young Chicago team, with low expectations, are some 12 points back going into tonight's game.

how many clubs are still playing in non specific soccer stadiums? which ones are still playing in football stadiums?

Excellent news to hear this Babble  :king: That's excellent that New York have got the Conference wrapped up and will be the number 2 seed, good first season this looks like for Henry. Then I saw Becks talking the other day saying that they're desperate to win the MLS this year after the heartache last year so I'd love to see them take the number 1 seed. A New York vs Los Angeles Final would be the best :grind dance:

Sounds like your Chicago are very much looking towards the future right now with a young team and no great hopes this season. Maybe in a couple of years that group of youngsters could form a very good team :)

Good question.

Houston's stadium will be ready next year
Seattle, relatively new, is playing their games in the Seahawks stadium
Philly has a gorgeous backdrop for their new stadium
San Jose plays at Buckshaw Stadium at Santa Clara University (soccer stadium). I don't know if they have designs on building another stadium.
Los Angeles and Chivas share the Home Depot center
Toronto has BMO Stadium
NY has their brand new Red Bull Stadium
Kansas City needs a stadium. I think they're on a minor league baseball facility.
What would you consider RFK Stadium? DC United are the only occupants now.
Revolution do not have a soccer specific stadium. They play at Gillette.

So far, Seattle, New England, and KC need stadiums.
I think Colorado has a soccer stadium, let me check.
I don't know about Dallas, I'll check them, too.

Yep, Colorado play in Colorado Rapids Stadium.
And Dallas has a soccer specific stadium, Pizza Hut Park  :rofl_2:

KC will have a new stadium next year.

So that leaves Seattle and New England.
I'm sure both of those teams will get their own stadiums, too.

I seriously doubt San Jose will leave Buckshaw at Santa Clara University, so, I guess they play in a soccer specific stadium, but it's not their own.

Then Seattle, NE, and SJ, but SJ won't get a new stadium. They're lucky to have a team.

thanks for all the info!  :thumbs-up: :thumbs-up: :thumbs-up: :thumbs-up:
I am surprised about some cities not having a MLS team:
Atlanta, St. Louis, Detroit, well Detroit is Detroit, and especially cities with very high percentage of latinos like:
San Diego, San Antonio, Phoenix and for sure Miami? (cubans don't play soccer)

the club called Red Bulls plays in Harrison, New Jersey, in front of Newark, NJ Devils, same story as the "NY" Jets and Giants.  :(

I saw Beckham scored as LA beat Dallas 2-1 to clinch the league leaders title :) that looks as sweet as to see LA number 1 in the West and NY number 1 in the East :) Here's to a Final in Toronto between the 2 :cheer:

What a turn around from last year then when it was such a struggle for New York :)

1st Leg
(6) San Jose 0-1 (1E) New York
(5) Colorado 1-0 (2E) Columbus
(3) Dallas 2-1 (2W) Salt Lake
(1W) LA @ (4) Seattle today

Salt Lake has never won at Dallas in 10 tries, so that wasn't as big a surprise as Columbus's loss to Colorado. Columbus got bounced at this stage last year, too.
