Will Nadal be a tennis legend?
« on: December 24, 2004, 06:38:58 PM »
This kid is young, but he already has some big wins under his belt.  He is being praised as a great up-and-commer to keep our eyes on.  Anyone think he will become a tennis legend?
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Might he be number 1, if only for a year?  Maybe.

A "legend," though?  I doubt it.  I mean, I don't even think Hewitt and Roddick are going to reach that level.

Legends and Legends in the Making, a very select club:

Sampras
Agassi
McEnroe
Becker
Federer
and if life is fair, Lendl.
Connors
Borg

Guga's probably a legend in Brazil, and ditto for Noah in France, Vilas in Argentina, etc.

I agree with MC Ill, legends are a very select club. I think today's commentators throw the word "legend" about a little too easy these days.
