History says european countries only have won when the world cup was played in Europe. South Americans the same except Brazil in Sweden 58. In JPN/KOR 2002 Brazil won.
I would love to see finally a new champion coming from Africa, as Pele has predicted will happen sooner or later. I expect the referees to be somehow a little bit pro africans.

I think I heard that if RSA doesn't advance to 2R, it will be the first time ever that the host county doesn't advance. Is that correct?

Yes, it is true. Every host nation has advanced to 2R.

OMG! Mexico goal flagged offside when the man was onside by 5 yards. They are just 30' in to the WC and already making a mockery of it!

Someone help me!!!!!!!!!

Mexico took a corner kick and there was a RSA player marking the post when the keeper came out to swipe at the ball (the keeper whiffed). Here's the question: can the player marking the post step off the pitch to draw an offside? This is what RSA apologists are claiming.

Actually if the player was behind the line, it could have been offside, but that RSA player was clearly inside.
