Topic: Do you not like Federer's tennis? (Dallas inspired poll)

This poll was inspired by Dallas's post

No one will stay on top for ever.  Heck, as a Federer fan, I'm just thankful we got to see him dominate all those years.  I know he'll eventually drop down but that doesn't bother me.  I do hope even the people who didn't like his tennis still respect what he's done for tennis.

I'm just curious, are there people who don't like Roger's tennis?
My vote is: I don't like Federer for other reasons

That, yes, but you must have said that for a reason, so I want to suss these people out.

I said it because I've read on other forums mostly, that because of this loss they are so glad the 'hated' Federer should now just go and retire; that he wasn't worth anything; and that he was overrated , etc, etc,.  So I said even if you don't like what Roger had done in tennis - or his tennis - then I hope people will at least respect what he's done for tennis.  That's what I mean!

honestly, i think fed is boring and just blah. his tennis is amazing to watch obviously, but for so long hes been like a robot on court, and not to mention the cockiest tennis player ever (and rightfully so). BUT, over the years ive come to respect what hes done and consider myself lucky that ive been around to watch the greatest of all time during his reign.

Are you kidding?  Robot was Lendl (which I happened to like); or some of the others.  Roger shows a LOT of emotions!

Are you kidding?  Robot was Lendl (which I happened to like); or some of the others.  Roger shows a LOT of emotions!

yep. the GOAT is allowed to have a big head imo. but responding to dallas, i think hes gradually shown more emotion these past few years (since hes been losing  ) but from about 2004 to 2007 he just seemed so incredibly bored at times, and was so robotic in all of his matches. but honestly when i think of federer and emotion, i think of him crying at the AO, and jumping up with his hands in the air everytime he makes a passing shot between the legs. thats about it.

C.  I think his tennis ability is peerless.  Off-court I don't know him well enough to like or dislike him.  He's definitely been an asset to the game.

You honestly don't remember him crying after 2003 Wimby, 2006 AO? Lot's of C'Mons. I just saw a replay of 2005 AO semi vs Safin and he was FIERY, much more then by 2007.

You can't take anything away from his game. He moves extremely well and his shots are (were?) amazing. His forehand is like the 2nd best in the history of tennis.  

I don't like him for other reasons. Nevertheless, he's good for the sport. Good for tennis.

Of course Nadal's brutal style is infinitely preferable to Federer's "artistic brilliance". Ballet tennis has no place in macho-man sport.

Exactly babbs, I cant imagine a better tennis than rogers, but for some reason its not enough. Actually, I would like to play like roger but dont know why I always finish playing more like rafa...

It's because it's impossible to play like Roger. His footwork is indescribable. It's like Baryshnikov on a tennis court.
