^^ Going to see the Mavs play the Hornets in the 17th. :)) Gonna get a Dirk t-shirt to wear. :))

The Hornets have started off really well.  But I hope the Mav's take it!!!!!  Dirk has been playing pretty well so far.  Hope he put on a show for you.

Lakers just keep going but this time in much tighter fashion as LA beat Toronto 108-103 and now move to 6-0 :yahoo: :grind dance: :applause: Lakers started off so quick in this one and after the 1st quarter with a 13 point lead I really though it was going to be another very easy win, but credit Toronto as they upped their game big time from there on in, while 2nd quarter Lakers came right off the gas with Toronto taking a 3 point lead into halftime. Lakers had it when it really mattered though in the clutch moments as the match went on and came away with the win. Kobe and Pau combining for 53 points and there were big contributions off the bench from Blake and Brown. Next up is a Sunday night game at home again vs Portland :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

The New Orleans Hornets stayed undefeated with 96-93 win over the Miami Heat.

Hawks remain the only undefeated team in the East after a 10 point win.

Celtics for the 2nd game in a row need OT to claim the win and have now won 5 straight.

Golden State won again to move to 4-1 having only been defeated by the Lakers so far.

Can I give big props to my Hornets? Trevor Ariza has been such a valuable asset to improving the team, and with CP3's return from injury, I'm really liking their chances of making the play-off's. :)) Now I'll feel bad when I go there and cheer for the Mavs and the Lakers. :zipped:

The Lakers are going to make me money!!!!   :))

The highly talked about "Big 3" from the Miami Heat haven't lived up to expectations yet. It takes a lot more than talent. If things start to go awry for them we'll see how they react.

I certainly hope you'll make some good money back this season Swish :))

That's what is going to be so interesting in Miami, if things don't quite go to plan as quickly as they thought things would, how will they all react there then. As you say talent alone doesn't win you Championships in any sport and Miami are going to find that out :))

Lakers need to go all the way even more now as I am going to be in America at the end of May, start of June next year, and in particular the few days I spend in Los Angeles :shakey:

I miss so much the Seattle Supersonics! such a great baskeball club!! the only pro club from Seattle with a championship. don't need to add that the club I hate the most is the OKC "thunder", what an original nickname, see the jerseys of the orlando thunder. There are so many great tribute videos about the Sonics.

Lakers just cruised to a 7th straight win last night with a 121-96 win over Portland :yahoo: :grind dance: :applause: Pau continued his brilliant start to the season with a triple double :applause: Odom had a game high 21 points, while 7 Lakers got into double figures for points. Great that a lot of the starters didn't have to play their normal sort of game length and could be rested for much more of that game. Next up on Tuesday is home to Minnesota :cheer: :cheer:

The Lakers are looking good.
Perhaps they could challenge the record of 72-10 by the Michael Jordan-Scotty Pippen Bulls.

By the way, the Bulls that year could of won a few more but Phil Jackson held the starters time down in games near the end of the season so they would be fresher for the playoffs.

I agree Swish if the Lakers keep playing the way they have been so far and really beating some teams badly then that 72-10 could be under a little threat as the season goes on. But for that to happen they've got to play with the same hunger and execution every game, all season long and that's real tough isn't it.

I'd say Phil Jackson would look at doing the same this season as he did with the Bulls that year and look to sit the starters much more if by say March things were looking pretty much wrapped up, so they could be really fresh for when it matters most.

But long time until then I guess so Lakers have just got to keep doing what they have done each game so far :)

Dallas- really nice win for your Mavs last night at home to the Celtics who had only lost once previously their first game of the season. The little spell at the end from 5 points down to 2 points up without a reply from Boston got the win for your Mavs :)

Lakers move to 8-0 start at the start of a season for the first time since 1997/98 with a 99-94 win over the Timberwolves :yahoo: :grind dance: :applause: Kobe was without doubt the star of the show as he bagged 33 of the Lakers points, with solid contributions from Gasol, Odom and Artest. Next up should be a terrfic game on Thursday night as its away to Denver :cheer: :cheer:

Last night also saw Miami beaten at home to the Jazz for the first time in 8 games and LeBron's triple double wasn't enough to save the Heat from their third defeat 114-116. Just think of quite a bit of talk of this team challenging the Bulls 72-10 before the season started, but 3 defeats already and we've only had 8 games!

The New Orleans Hornets keep up their terrific start as they remain undefeated after easily beating the Clippers by 21 points.

Unbelievable performance and shooting from Indiana last night as they just weren't missing shots as they notched up 144 points to see off Denver 144- 113!!

The Kinicks continuing to struggle as the Bucks easily beat them, Portland had way too much for Detroit, while Cleveland just about got out of New Jersey with a win as they edged through 2 points.

I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

great win for the Nets in Cleveland, 87-95! 3-5! 2nd in the Atlantic Division -tie with the Knicks. The Division looks so weak, only Boston has a wining record.

This has been a terrific start to the 3rd for the Lakers to really extend what was a very tight lead out to 11 points within the first 90 seconds :) Lakers 70-59 right now early in the 3rd :cheer: :cheer:

Celtics moved to 2-0 for the season against the Heat as they went to Miami and beat them to drop Miami to a 2nd straight home defeat and 4 defeats already this season :))
