Ba-baaaye DADT
« on: December 19, 2010, 10:16:43 AM »
Compromise legislature that acted as a stepping to stone to open service.

Now let's see what, if any, impact there is on combat troops.
That seemed to be the only arguement anti-repealers could muster.
Mighty lame if ya ask me.

There were plenty of gays in the service during my stint.
It was no secret who they were.
If there was any conduct that was out of line, we dealt with it ourselves.
Other than that, everyone got along just fine.

CONK da ball!!!

It was an important bridge that actually allowed the current legislation to pass.  I think it would have been virtually impossible to make the leap from no gays allowed to having gays serve openly.
