Well Davy went out for me, since he made the first round I get 1 point.  :rofl_2:

Since i have him for QF, that would have been 50 points max.
So I lost 49 points off of my theoretical maximum.
The maximum points you can have if all your picks were right is 720 points.
Since I lost 49 my new theoretical max is 720-49=671.

Good observation. When I ran NCAA pools, I used 1000 points as the max, then scored from 1000 to 0. Everyone began the pool with 1000 pts. The significance is lost on people until they realize that when they lose their Final Four pick early, they drop from 3rd place to 24th place after one game.

I called it "The Eliminator" because I liked to tell people, "You've been eliminated. Thank you for playing. Good night now." :death:
They'd be, like, "What? How? It's only the 2R? I'm still in 3rd place in all of my other pools."  :rofl_2:

But for this game, yous guys get the kinder, gentler Babblelot.  :innocent:  I score from 0 to 720.

The other side of the coin was that you'd now lost all of your points and sat waiting for everyone to come back to you.

I have definitely done some unorthodox picking, but I think that Hewitt, Verdasco, Melzer and Monfils are players a little under the radar that are going to mess up the rest of the draw. However, the Top 4 players in the world will stop each of them in the quarterfinals. I hope my picks go good, and good luck to everyone else. Expect to see some unexpected surprises this Australian Open, Hewitt thriving on home turf, and possibly Melzer pulling up another great Grand Slam result.

What about Murray?

Good question! The answer is that Murray has not got too much match experience prior to the Aussie Open and he is going to be an unexpected early casualty. He does have Marcos Baghdatis, and Del Potro in his section to name just a few. He may even bow out earlier then that.  :)) ..-)

I think you'll probably get your wish Dallas, the match comes too soon for Gillou and this will be his 7th match in a row. Fed will never have a better time to get some revenge  :)~ Still had to pick him though  :))
