Speaking of doing, I can't do Nole or...if it's the other way. He doesn't strike me as a man with substance. I am never attracted to a guy just because he's very handsome. I have to know him first and know that he's great at carrying on conversation and that he posses great qualities - only then I'll be interested.

Emma, do you like Andy because you find him a sympathetic figure?
:rofl_2: :rofl_2:  Man and why is he a sympathetic figure? He is one of the best professional tennis players, has loads of cash, has a supportive (over supportive) mother/coach....and I thought poor children in africa were sympathetic figures  ..-)

You just let Emma answer, missy. :nono:

I think it goes much deeper than that Alex.  Aside from the golddiggers, the women I've 'known' have been looking for a mate that can provide.  Perhaps having money is a part of that equation.

Isn't that a bit too much of a generalization? Not all women but perhaps a lot of them. But this idea was set out a long time ago when "angry men" actually preferred women to stay home and take care of the house and their babies.

Oh and you are so barking at the wrong tree when you lump me with the rest of the women. See, if I wanted someone else to take care of me, I would have done that a long time ago. The reason why I am single is because I don't care for that s**t. I don't need anyone else's money. I am way too proud to live on someone else's money. Heck, I don't even take any of my father's money which I am entitled to. I have a good job, I live alone, I bare all my expenses including rent, bills, car payments, insurance, groceries and all others. I don't date like a typical woman as I believe in steady, long relationship so unless I am very sure of the guy, I won't go out with him. And if I do, I will share half the cost whatever it is. So that he doesn't feel he's now allowed to kiss me and get laid just because he paid for my dinners/lunches etc.

I absolutely fail to see why and how men are more worthy than women, so I am hardly going to give any attention to the guys as if I can't live without them and be so desperate about it too.

But I agree, most women would prefer money over anything else; by the same token, men prefer sex so when they get married, they keep two things in mind: one, the girl has to be very young and very beautiful. It's fair trade if you ask me.  :rofl_2:

See I am generalizing there too but you basically asked for it.

Hi Babbs, I don't see how Murray's a sympathetic figure? Can you explain it a bit more as to what context you find him that sort of a figure?

In any case, I am going to echo falcon's sentiment and say that, same here. He has everything a person can ask for and more, but the reason I like him the most is because, I find him very interesting to watch. He's very intelligent, has a wicked sense of humour and despite all the pressure and somewhat disturbing childhood, he handles the whole thing quite well for a 23 year old. He's a gentleman out and out. He respects all his opponents, win or loss, he behaves the same - no sour loser attitude there. Always gives his opponents plenty of credit. No on court tactics or gamesmanship. In short, I find him fascinating to watch and love how unpredictable he is which makes him all the more interesting. You never know which Andy will show up therefore, making the match utterly unpredictable. I mean you can never figure him out completely. There's always this mystery there surrounding him. I just find him very unique and very special. Every time I look at him, that's the feeling I get.

But know that, my love for tennis comes first so obviously I appreciate his tennis the most.

Does all that answer your question or was it something else you were wondering about?

Subconsciously, then, you do. You mention the events of his childhood often. That absolutely makes him a sympathetic figure. falcon is a trouble maker. Take what she says with a grain of salt.

No, I had a pretty good feeling about exactly what you meant but I wanted you to be more specific about it. I mean why else would you think Murray's sympathetic figure? And nothing goes on the subconscious mind that I am not consciously aware of.  :)~

Seriously, if I were to write about it, it would be another long essay.
