Topic: What do you want your next car to be?

I have always wanted one of those new mustangs (something in the last 4 years or so)., but with the price of gas these days that will not be an option.  My next car will be more of a fuel efficient car.  Right now I have a banged up Ford Taurus with 156,000 miles on it.  I hope it makes it to 200,000 miles, that would be sweet.  Highest I have ever had a car go is 183,000 miles.  I got rid of it because it was rusty all over, I could shove my finger through the shock tower, it was toasted.

I've never been massive into fantastic cars and whatever as I love my holidays(especially the tennis ones), my money, oh and the small matter of being obsessed with trying to save and save for a big deposit on property to make everything so much easier in the future so never really thought about this one. I would probably have to say some really smart Mercedes or something like that. A Porsche would be good but you can never really test that sort of car out.

I Have been a car go to 255,000 miles Scott My dad's car hit that mark and I really wanted him to hit the 250k mark as that's the distance to the moon I think it was about 8 years old when he hit that mark as its used day in day out for his job. That was probably about 7-8 years ago now.

Mine's a Honda Civic and I'm very happy with it. I put most weight on reliability. I'd get the same again.

High priced cars have no attraction here. Some years ago when I worked abroad, I was given a company BMW. It was fine, but some of the gadgets were superfluous.

Not the mustang I had in mind.  I should note too that I have never been that big into cars.  I need something to get me from A to B.  Lately though with the release of the newer mustang body I have kinda wanted one.  With the spike in gas prices though it is not going to happen.  Someone above mentioned a Honda Civic, I will be looking at those in due time. 

As mentioned previously, I have a banged up Ford Taurus.  Someone tagged my rear bumped when they slid on ice, they hit me pretty good.  My truck is a pain to open and close and the bumper looks beat up.  But I collected $1,800.00 for it and chose not to repair it.  The car is long since paid off and not causing me any issues.  A to B yo, A to B...

The first car I hope to buy on my own will be something simple and reliable. Most likely a Civic or an Accord. But then I'd like to buy something swanky after that (maybe in 8-10 years). Like a Lexus or an Acura.

I drove a civic for last 4 years. loved it to death, put a 100k on it. sold it.

bought and currently drive a Forester, love it to death. slightly underpowered (should have gone for the Turbo 240hp instead of my current 170hp) but it has leather heated seats, huge sunroof, plenty of space and its awesome. black on black. have had it for 7 months and have 20k miles on it already 



next car i want in 3-4 years (that's about how long i keep my cars, find it has the best resale-to-maintanence value) .. i am debating. i love the space and comfort as well as the drive of a lot of the cross-over-mini-suv's like my subaru and the acura rdx - main reason i bought my subaru was space and I love it. with the back seats down i can put anything in there, its bigger than my bed, maybe even bigger than my bedroom. but then i love the classiness and luxury of a sedan. I am thinking maybe a bmw 3 series or an infinity - i have also never owned anything more than a 4 cylinder so i really want  a 6 cylinder.




I think about cars a lot! I love cars! Also until very recently I have always thought at some point, I want to own a convertible - almost definitely the nissan 350 z: but now I am thinking I wouldn't mind not having one as long as I have a sweet family car. I do care about the efficiency and space and value of the car so I am not sure I'd ever actually get a coupe or a convertable unless it was a used one for a killer price and i was loaded. Right now I am all about investing and making as much as I can to get myself some property under my name, mostly to rent out, before I turn 23. So cars will have to wait

I had the good fortune to drive a Beemer sedan once.  What a sick car!!!

As I'm sure you know Professor, if you do the investing now, you'll have your pick of cars in the coming years.

I have a Suzuki SX4 sedan for last 1.5 years. Done 45000 miles already. No maintenance issues (just changed the break-pads once), decent fuel economy & pretty good value for money, (I mean who would expect an ABS & EBD system for such low price), a little slow off standstill but once on move accelerates well. All in all I am very happy with my car.
