What's your favorite thing that you own? I mean an object...what makes you giddy/happy/glad that you own it and you'd be sad if it broke or was lost or discontinued??

I've got some toys that I enjoy but nothing really jumps out at me.

Perhaps my membership to the racquet club, which I just gave up this past year. :(  I haven't played in several years, but having to give that up was difficult.

Interesting question!

Oh, so you see your wife as an object? Well, that ought to do it.

Kingskid, my car, laptop, tv and my cell. If you take those away, I'll simply die. And if you wait two more years and I'll happily add my new townhouse!

As to people, if it comes to that, my family and Andy (not Roddick). I love my job. Means a lot to me. I love Canada. Most of all, I love life. If I were to die I'll miss my family and Andy (not Roddick) the most. Sometimes I kare about Alex.

My computer, I picked all the parts and built it.
It's so fast and the monitor is so nice.
I started locking my doors when not home since I got it.  :rofl_2:

Clearly the OBJECT of his affections.  Awe!  **swoon**

I was thinking more along the lines of non-flesh and blood objects.  ;-() For me it's also a few things.  1) Aloe Lips Chapstick. A must have all day, every day.  2) Most definitely it's a tie between coffee and a coffee pot.  So while I COULD survive with instant coffee  I definitely don't want to and so if all the coffee pots suddenly disappeared I'd surely be crushed for awhile.

I guess if you've found or made a house your dream home that should be true.

I have a love/hate relationship with my recliner! :mad1:

I've got plenty of 'things' to satisfy the equipment junkie in me when it comes to my profession and hobbies.  Yet there's nothing that I'm overly attached to, including my boat!!!

I guess I'm at the point where 'things' don't play an important part in my life.  It's more about family, health, and free time.

Seems like a bit of a paradox for the capitalist pig, eh? ;-()

My racket stringer!  I am a lonely old man.
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

You know I really can't think of anything. I am really laid back when it comes to material things, I don't need much, I don't want much. I do want the luxury and freedom to have much - that's where my ambition and drive comes from.

I guess if my wallet broke apart today I'd be upset.. until I go to a store and get a new one. My cars, I LOVE my cars, I had a civic for 5 years and now a forester, I get separation anxiety when I am not driving them and god-forbid if I am IN my car and someone else is at the steering wheel. That has happened only once before and I am not letting it happen again.

My laptop would have to be on top too. I am not as hardcore as Swish as in the hardware I didn't exactly build from scratch but the system is beautifully customized and set up by none other than myself and it's pretty damn perfect if i say so myself. I'd be upset if anything happened to it, it takes TONS of time to reach this level of organization (I am OCD in a lot of my computer habits) and continuous upkeep.

My mom likes gardening and I like to help her out, we are not exactly farmers nor expert plant-handlers and have our hands full with a million things but the joy that comes from harvesting those two eggplants or jalapenos and tomatoes is incredible, I get upset when some plant that we've been trying to grow dies :( Again this might not be object-oriented.

I guess a part of this comes from the travelling lifestyle. for the past 6 years I haven't had one set of things that I was attached to.. my swiss gear backpack that now is the nearest and dearest thing that's with me all the time might be pretty high up there.

I guess only my wallet, not because it contains money but it contains some id cards and it would really scare me to go through the whole process of getting them again. Of course my passport too.

Most important is family for me too. Mom, dad, bro, extended family and my friends as well. Can't imagine a world without them

I am really very attached to all my things. I broke my favourite coffee mug this morning and it broke my heart. I accidently dropped it and it broke into pieces and I had to watch it. Now my heart is broken into pieces. It was so sad. I did not enjoy my coffee this morning at all.

It was a light green very cute coffee mug.  :(
