nole is a monster:

1. he has his "movement of death"

2. his return is the best the world has ever seen

3. his backhand the best ever

i dont know how you beat this guy when he is in a zone.

while commenting during the wimbledon and US opens, Johnny Mac was full of praise for Novak's return game and his speed.

Novak's speed and defense was out the roof this year.  To do to Rafa and Fed what they do so well to others (defense into offense) is just plain silly.  And then to push them back with severe depth in your shots is just mind blowing.  That is what (at least to me) made Rafa look so out of place at times.  Seemed like Rafa was always trying to adjust to the depth that Novak hit and could not get enough offense going, and of course it was forcing him to hit shots shorter than he wanted to, allowing Novak to deliver even more pain.  Rafa makes everyone on tour look very uncomfortable with his style of game.  What he does to everyone Novak was doing to Rafa this year.  If Novak can keep it up and if  Rafa does not find they solution for next season is yet to be seen.  But to be watching it will be amazing!  Still have my fingers crossed for a 5 set FO final between the two!

I much prefer Nole's style of play than D-Pots' whose main intention is to overpower his opponents. Against him, all you have to do is to throw him off balance. And often times the top players do that to him and that's why he has a poor record agaisnt them. D-Pot is more like your Zone player and can last longer than let's say Tsogna, Berdych, Soderling etc.

As to Nadal - I saw the last set of the DC match vs D-Pot yesterday. I don't think he's going anywhere with that approach against Nole next year; given of course, if they are both healthy and fit. Nole will either have to drop his level or stay unfit in order for Nadal to get a win against him. Maybe Nadal will feel more confident next year and Nole perhaps a bit less.  The whole defending part may put a lot of pressure on him. In any case, Nadal still looked fragile despite the DC win.

I don't think I was talking about football.  2012 maybe different or may just be a carryforward.

I am sure if that doesn't happen then you will come up with all sorts of excuses just like last year. Nadal was supposed to seal the deal by taking at least 3 slams. That was a joke. Keep yourselves grounded.

no excuses.......if nadal is fit, has no knee issues and has no flu or other such fevers, he will go on to outlast djokovic next year.......you heard it here first......

:rofl_2: :rofl_2: :rofl_2: :rofl_2:  Wow...is that all he has to do?  Why not add "if he has no personal issues; ...if he doesn't wake up on the wrong side of the bed....if he doesn't fall and cut his hand or arm or leg or back or neck....if he doesn't pull a muscle; etc.  Heck - all these variables can apply to ANY player - don't you think? :rofl_2:

Djokovic had an unbelievable year, and it would be difficult to produce the same kind of results in 2012.

But I think he will have a good year. I am excited for the start of the new season.

Nole has a huge lead so can lose a few points here and there.
He only has to do better than anyone else in any 12 month span to keep #1.

If someone is going to overtake him it'll have to be before or just after the USOpen, after that he has little to defend.

What most are looking forward to is his next encounter with Nadal, will his streak continue?

^^^Djokovic will be playing in Abu Dhabi along with Rafa, Fed, Monfils, Tsonga and Ferrer. The tournament  will start on Dec. 29th. It's just an exho where top guys will be payed millions to entertain. I couldn't care less for this type of "tournaments". As if Nole, Rafa and Roger need more money  ..-).
