Tomic is getting outclassed. Lendl nodding in approval.

Murray leads 6-3, 4-2 up a break

Like Bill said, Murray has been running Tomic around. He got treated for a blister on his big toe after the first set. It doesn't look as though it's affecting his movement. He's not a great mover to begin with.

Murray moved much better in this match compare 1st and 2nd round. It looks like he find his form. His forehand is good in this match.

And Tomic still has chance to get more improvements on his movement and serve. He is 19 years old.

As expected, Murray gets through in a relatively routine match. And Dolgopolov makes it a straightforward win over Simon. Good for him to get through. A potentially excellent finals awaits!

I know next to nothing about Kanepi, but she made light work of Hantuchova!! With a field including Inanovic/Williams/Clijsters/Shiavone/Jankovic etc, I wouldn't have picked her in a month of Sundays! Well done to her.

And two of my favourite doubles teams face each other in the finals - Mirnyi/Nestor (who won the WTF in November) & Melzer/Petzshner.       2 potentially excellent finals coming up in Brisbane.

Andy, you may be peaking again!  Save it for the Austrialian Open!  Lendl does not care if you win in Brisbane; Austialian is your goal as well as all the Grand Slams!  Making history to be the first English? male tennis player since Fred Perry to win a Grand Slam would be a high mark for Ivan Lendl! :))

Well done to Murray. Good for him to make an excellent start to the season & get this title under his belt. It is far too soon to comment meaningfully upon whether the Lendl partnership is proving effective, but how wonderful to have sealed the new appointment of Lendl to his team by winning his first campaign this year.

It has been said time & again that Murray requires only sufficient belief to make it through at GS level. I hope this win will give him a huge boost going into the AO.

And I'm delighted to see Dolgopolov - whom I kept an eye on in 2011 - getting to the final here. I hope he'll consolidate on his good start to the year & play more consistently this year.

My pick of Melzer / Petzshner lost to Mirnyi / Nestor, but I am not sobbing into my pillow as I like the latter pair too. Good for them to continue their successful partnership with this first win of the year.
Carpe Diem

My favs for AO: Nole, Murray, Nadal, Tsonga, Ferrer. Federer is not a favorite while his back injury remains in doubt.
Then we will fight in the shade.

TC is showing this crap match between Murray and Dolgopolov instead of the 3 hour slugfest between Raonic and Tipsy.
