The schedule looks good today.
Nadal and then Fed start off at Rod Laver Arena.  :king:

Later Del Potro but it's too late for me.  :(

So down goes Roddick....American hope now falls on  ....... Isner!!!!

I'm glad to see Roger tonight but honestly I HATE when he plays Ivo. Even I think most of their matches are...well...boring (oops, did I say that when it pertains to my man?).

I just hope Roger gets through.

It is Lu's match, I am going to watch it. But the problem for me is why they meet! Lu vs Del Potro....

 :ZZZZZ) :::O :yikes:

I watched Hewitt-Roddick on replay. I recalled from last year that the crowd is mostly in ignorance about what is going on when a player is injured (as was Hewitt today to a lesser extent) which explains the uncomfortable silence after Roddick quit.  It seemed to me that if Roddick had won the third set, he would have toughed it out but he knew that if it went to five it would at best have been a win with little gain, much pain, and a big loss in the following match. Roddick's serve was as commanding as ever although Lleyton's was pretty good too (e.g. recovering in the last game from 0-40 !).
This loss will not be good for Roddick's place in the rankings.  Hewitt, as he said after the match, went into it with nothing to lose.
It's tough getting old.  :dunno:

I think I have the year right, Fed lost to Karlovic at Cincinnati 2007. A Federer loss at that time was unheard of and I will always remember the uncanny doom-laden silence that descended over the whole stadium when the incredibile became inevitable.
Yes, it was big serving all the way to the tie-break. :hammer:

Edit: It was 2008. Karlovic served 22 aces.  :)>>>>

I was looking at the top 4 players opponent rankings to see who (on paper so far) has had the tougher draw:

1. Novak's first 3 players were ranked: 109, 56, and 81

2.Nadal: 167, 190, 119.  But it should get tougher in the 4th round with either Isner or Lopez.

3. Roger's first 3 players were: 172, 93 (walkover) and 57

4. Seems like Murray (on paper) had the toughest first 3 rounds with his opponents ranked: 77, 101, 46

Just thought it was interesting to see.

Yeah, the magic of Roger's GS draws (walkovers) continues.

It is fascinating, honestly.

Del Pot's draw is pretty sweet for a guy ranked #11. I'd like to see his opponents' rankings.

Compare #11 JMDP to #12 Simon

Simon. 201. 39. 24.  That's what a draw for someone ranked #11 or #12 should look like.  JMDP got a sweet, top seed pass.

Why not go straight away to a tie-break.

Karlovic has a set point on his serve but Fed won the set.
