Cool!!

Nole's got some work cut out for himself.

Sid, did Murray get screwed again? I forgot. I always thought being on Federer's side of the draw was to his benefit, but I'll leave it to you to explain.

I'm happy with the draw,it will make a nice change 4 who is on what side of the draw.Haas will have to play Nadal???thats if he beats the Qualifier   :rofl_2:

(Nadal and Federer have been paired in the same half of a Grand Slam draw for the first time since the 2005 French Open)

I am pretty sure if Federer meets Bernard Tomic, Tomic is going to make a lot of troubles. Federer need to be aggressive, attacking Tomic weak serve, coming to the net, and making Tomic unbalance as more as possible.

The serve selection, I believe is combination of slice serve out wide and flat serve down to the T.  ..-)
Tomic really have trouble to deal with this combination.

what makes you so sure that tomic will get passed verdasco?

That why I said "if".
But still I think Tomic has good chance to defeat Verdasco.

Murray hasn't been tested this year. Djokovic didn't had a great end to last year. Nadal lost to Monfiles. Federer has a back problem.

Tsonga for the win!  :))

It is Haase guys  ;-()
and yes, he is awesome because he is Dutch  :))

Let's hope Haase stays injury-free this year, and moves on in the rankings.
Because at the moment, even Darts is more popular in The Netherlands than Tennis  :\.

this is exciting!

I am looking forward to Murray vs. Djokovic in the semis and I think Murray will take it this time. The only legitimate big threat to the top 4 right now is Tsonga and a very distant one after that would be Berdych.

Murray's definitely got the hardest draw in my opinion. Having to open against Harrison is not that big of a deal, the kid is still a kid and will get outclassed by Murray no matter how much improved he is. I think having to play against Tsonga - Djokovic - Fed/Nadal in a row is KILLER.

The bottom, both Fed and Nadal have it easy. Del Potro did play both Nadal and Djokovic tough at last year's Wimbledon/FO so that's the only slight danger for Fed. Just as dangerous is a healthy Berdych for Nadal. But other than that I think they're good to meet in the semis.

I want to see a Murray vs. Federer final and may the best man win. I think if Lendl does push Murray to be more aggressive then Murray is the better player and shoudl beat Federer to win his first GS. But anything less than the absolute best from Murray and Federer is by far the better player and should win in a good match.

Well, protecting the Netherlands from darts is as good a cause as any!  Hasse it is!!  :)

I'm nodding away in agreement here, PAWAN89 , mostly because I'd like to see either Federer or Murray win the AO this year.  But I disagree with your assessment that Murray will beat Djokovic in the SF, assuming they both get there, or that Federer will beat Nadal in the SF, assuming that they too get there.

My heart says Federer or Murray.  Murray because I really want him to do it this time. The others have had their share of success, & it would be great to see his dream come true here, where he has played some of his best tennis in grand slams and where he has got so near before. Federer because he is on his way out & I'd like to see him clinch at least another slam as he goes. I'd love to see that.

But my mind says Djokovic. Unless I see evidence that he is off the boil, or burnt out, there is nothing to persuade me that he won't be back as hungry & determined as last year. And he has a relatively straightforward path to the SF.   This is a man who went out & took all before him in a quite spectacular show of self belief. His game wasn't bad either!!  :)   The boost from the outstanding year he had, must surely compensate for any minor fatigue/injury. Also, he has given himself time to recover too - very wise.

I agree with those who say that Nadal will bide his time, and get his full fitness back in order to concentrate on the clay court season/titles. But he is a great competitor & I would never rule him out. If he meets Federer in the SF, the weight of their record against each other could tilt it towards Nadal, even if he isn't feeling 100% here. Federer off the boil & defensive won't beat Nadal on any surface. Not now anyway.

Whatever happens, there ought to be some superb tennis here. A complete outsider winning would be great fun!
