this type of tennis will not take murray the full distance.......i understand it's only his first match but he looks just the same like always.......retrieving, retrieving and even more retrieving.......as usual powerless forehands and average serving.......tsonga might take him out.......

missed the djokovic match but it looks like he totally destroyed that unknown italian......tipsarevic is the only one in his quarter who can hang with djokovic and he got through his first round in 4 sets today.......

I really enjoy this match. Harrison has a lot of talent and potential, but he also has weakness need to work out.

Yep. What would you say some of the things he can work on are?

He needs to work out his backhand. That is the one make him always chasing the ball.
He backhand really like to drop in the middle of the court. It allow his opponent to attack. In the result, he always chasing the ball.
It is reason I said that in other thread, he needs to improve his backhand slice and the way he hit his backhand.

You can see in this match when he uses his backhand slice. It is totally different story when he hit normal backhand.

i noticed that he plays aggressively when he's down break points but gets back to defensive pushing when he levels with the opponent.......his med paced forehands will be punished by any top player.......it's funny that most of these rising young players' stronger wing is their backhand.......harrison made murray's forehand look strong in comparison.......

Roddick put together one of the best sets of tennis he's ever played. He looked like a tennis player.

I'd like to have seen him play like this. Good for him.

I'm watching Tsonga / Istomin.  Tsonga has just got to 6 -5 in the 4th set. There is a good atmosphere here - and some entertaining tennis.

EDIT : Istomin couldn't

^^^ I couldn't edit my comment above. Quoting is erratic too.

Anyway, Isomin couldn't take the pressure of the moment & the errors lost him the game to love & hence the match.
A good match for Tsonga. And I note that Murray went to 4 sets against Harrison. Rainic did well against Volandri to get through in straights. But I see that Gulbis went out - yet again, blink, and you miss him!

So the usual suspects through - Djokovic, Murray, Ferrer, MonFils, & glad to see Roddick & Gasquet still there.

I'm watching the Hewitt match now. He is up 2 sets, but was broken in the 3rd. Surely he'll clinch this match?????

Is this match boring? Death by 100 paper cuts.
The resutl never seemed to be in doubt, but I was on the edge of my seat getting my first lengthy look at Ryan Harrison.

I really liked what I saw, especially the court-sense and willingness to move into the forecourt.  Nice to see a player with such variety and creativity.

I see Hewitt got through after his wobbles in the 3rd set. Good for him.

Here is the shedule for day three. It should be straightforward for most. The Wawrinka / Baghdatis & Dimitrov / Almagro matches could be interesting.

Hewitt - Roddick in 2nd round could be interesting.

Roddick had better behave himself. That crowd is going to be very partisan  :)>>>> :cheer: :)>>>>  :cheer: :)>>>> :cheer: :)>>>>. I saw the nightmatch Hewitt vs Nalbandian last year which went on into the small hours. It was surreal  :insane: . Nalbandian won but was exhausted for his next match and folded up completely.

My own bet is that Roddick is in the better shape and has the better chance. But he will need to win quickly and that might be hard.

After the defeat, Lleyton went on to commentate for a local TV station on other matches, presumably for a hefty fee $$$$$$$ . He was actually pretty good.

how are you super di, are you enjoying the AO? i saw the scores and noticed that granollers had a big 5 set victory in his first round......

as you can see these days i am chipping in here at t4u once in a while.......i don't think i will come back to MTF in the near future, maybe never as well......i am done with their butt-hurt attitude towards true tennis followers like me, you, mimi and hercules.......their mod squad is a complete joke and unless that clown action jokeson is kicked out from the mod panel, i am not going to visit that board again.......scoobs must be out of his mind to employ such a biased and hypocritical fed fan kid for mod position.......

MTF is headed down the drain.......only people regularly posting there these days are the blind breed who started following tennis in 2009.......

please say my hello to castle folks and tell them that i may not be back at MTF after this vacation period......
