Yup, he will want to keep that mental edge best he can.  Keep the doubt in Nadal's head.  Plus these dudes are way competitive, they don't like to give up much.

I really don't think a lot of people are looking at what Novak had to go through.  First, he was defending a grand slam (and in the past he had never defended one); 2: He is #1 so everyone is gunning for him; 3: He had a very tough SF match - very taxing physically - and we know that in previous years, he probably would have been 'toast' in the final;...so all those things 'against him' and he still toughed it out in the final against Nadal.  I would have thought this probably would have been Nadal's best effort to beat Novak and stop the string of victories but if all these things were going against Novak - and Nadal STILL didn't beat him - I wouldn't say Nadal would have a better chance in their next match!  If anything - Novak got MORE confidence from this match by coming through again against Nadal.  Just saying....

Since the big 3 use non-majors as glorified practice sessions, sure someone else may win an Indian Wells here, A Cincy there.  But for the majors, please just have a 4 person draw and save everyone travel expenses.

Sid, to be honest with you, it doesn't really matter. Nole and Rafa don't need to win either tournament. I actually hope Murray can take both. however, all it really matters are slams. I'd love to see Murray shine but it's not gonna be easy.

Sid, to be honest with you, it doesn't really matter. Nole and Rafa don't need to win either tournament. I actually hope Murray can take both. however, all it really matters are slams. I'd love to see Murray shine but it's not gonna be easy.

I think the MS-1000 titles/tournaments have lost something from the past.  I mean, there USE to be a difference between the 1000 tournaments and just a regular tournament in the past where at least the final was best of 5.  I understand why they went away from that - but I think they need to do something to make it different from a 'regular' tournament.  Right now, there isn't that much of a difference between these tournaments and the regular tour tournament.

Alex in Slams it does not look like it's only Nole and Rafa 2 me,Murray pushed a fresh Djokovic all the way.If the rest of the year is like this,anyone can win Slams,i don't count Roger out either.

End of the day tennis player's will want,as many wins as poss,that's a fact.Thay might not mean as much 2 you,as Roger will most likey call it a day in 2 or 3 years.

No matter what anyone says, Master Series are prestigious. Look at the prize money, ranking points and that little cardboard display they put by the player seat which shows how many MS shields you have.
