Haase (nerves), Sijsling (tired), and De Bakker (bit ill) all lost their first round matches against resp. Davydenko, Niemienen, and Troicki.

Bad for Dutch tennis, especially given all three had chances in their matches.

Today Federer, Berdych, and Del Potro. You can watch for free @ www.nos.nl/tennis.

I did manage to find a link.  Roger is through 6-4 6-4.  He said (on court interview) that he's already in the QF because his opponent in the next round withdrew?

Yes, Federer through to QF because Youzhny is injured.
More than 10,000 people came to watch Federer's first round match. I think that's pretty impressive for a small (tennis) country like The Netherlands.

Here's a nice vid:

Federer interview:

Del Potro interview:

Davydenko df. Matthieu in three sets, yesterday night.

Roger vs (either Gasquet or Davydenko).

Davydenko has always played Federer in close matches.  Hopefully, Davydenko can find the force to beat Federer and move on to the next round!

Federer does not look good at the moment. He makes a lot of UE's.

It seems like his little Davis Cup clay trip has ruined his rhythm.

The match against Nieminen was pretty bad.

Lately Fed's been taken to the shed, DelPo wants some of the action too.  :king:   :rofl_2:

My alarm is set for this match, much more important for the tower than Fed.
Should be a good one.

Not too many players Fed can get away with serving just 49% on the first delivery. :\
DPot fails to convert 7 break points. :(
The last 2 in the 8th game, 2nd set.
Fed down 15-40 and wins 4 straight points with steady play.
CONK da ball!!!

I thought it was at 5:00 AM but it was at 7.  :confused1:

Well had some coffee and did a few chores before the match.  :dunno:

That first set DelPo was shown some variety and was not too happy, Fed knows too stay away from trading shots to Potro's forehand.
Drop shots, some good play and a very nice game for Fed.

DelPo has 4 more tournaments lined up in a row so he has an idea of what to work on.

This was a tough match for me, I wanted DelPo to win but I wanted the GOAT to add to his totals.  :confused1:
