Del Potro v. Berdych
« on: February 18, 2012, 02:20:01 AM »
HUGE match today. Berdych v. Del Potro

1. Should Del Potro be "ready" to win this match?
2. Should Del Potro win this match?
3. Don't expect Del Potro to win a big match like this because he's still not "ready."

Given those three choices, what are people thinking?

I think at the same level for both of their game assume both of them play well in their own game, Berdych will have better chance because he has bigger serve and better penetration.

I don't really know where DPot is in terms of returning to or exceeding his previous best level of play. :confused1:

I hope he is continuing to improve and perhaps this match against The Birdman will be an indicator as to where he's at.  I think these are the types of matches a top 5 player needs to win the majority of the time and I think JMDP has that potential.

Time to round up the bandwagon! :))

I always have a tough time believing in Berdych although he has stepped it up this last year.  I would prefer DelPo win, but I am clueless on this one.  What time do they play?  I am working all day in front of a pc, I would like to see it.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Berdich is so underrated. I still think that he is a super talented player but mentally he is a midget. he will never win anything important. as I said I'm kinda getting bored with both Nole and Nadal owning everyone but hey ...I actually don't think that DP is a better player, I think that Berdych simply has zero determination...

Whenever I see a player blow up, it makes me think they're afraid to take responsibility for losing.  Bird Man chirped at the chair middle of the first set over nothing and it was all down hill from there.  Too bad, the lad's got skillzz!

I don't think DPot looked that sharp though straight wins over Troiki and Berdych are a good sign.  Let's see how he does against Davydenko in the final. ;-()

Unfortunately, I had to sleep through this one.

OK. Good :spot on:

No more of these, "He's not quite there yet" excuses for Del Potro. When he loses to Baghdatis again, it's because he's not an elite player.

It almost happened. I thought Federer was very lucky to get past Davy.

I've just been waiting for this time to come.

I recall starting a thread claiming Chang is a better #3 than Nole because Nole is nothing but a puddy with no heart. That was about 6 months prior to him winning 4 out of 5 slams.
