Marian Vajda to Novak Djokovic, "I saw you beat that man like I never saw no man get beat before, and the man KEPT COMING AFTER YOU! Now we don't need no man like that in our lives."

Nole simply cannot produce the same tennis he produced last year. He is still very good but now Rafa and Murray are ready to challenge him. Fed was anyway close to beating him last year itself. Still Nole is the man to beat. He is still the best out there.

first of all, congrats to Sid and Murray  :). Everyone is beatable. Again I just don't think Dubai was that important for Nole. He does deliver when it matters. again, nothing to take from Murray. he tends to beat Nole at smaller tournaments.

Smaller tournaments hmmmmmm Alex,we know Murray's not won a Slam yet,but he can beat Nole sometimes @ Masters IE Cincinnati 2011.When Murray plays his best tennis,he looks the one who can sometimes beat Nole.I'd like to see how Roger & Nadal do v Djokovic this year, but not @ Murray's expense.

As far as I can explain your words : A small tournament in anything but a grandslam. If that is so you're correct.
Actually I believe this win will signify a lot to others too and this year will not be a magic carpet as last year. But the question is will the pigeon become a cat and take a bite while others are ?

med, I realize you don't like Nole and you are a big Rog fan. fine with me. Rog also lost tournaments when he was dominating the tour. you can not win everything.  Nole will too. I don't have a problem with it. Nole, Rog, Nadal IMHO care about GS the most. we can pretend it's not the case but it is. they are creating history in a way. Novak had 'some shoulder issues' after the USO last year and then he shows up at the AO and wins... I hope you get my point. I do respect every tournament but again on the big scale Dubai does nothing for Novak.

right, lol. NOBODY on the tour is in his head. as much as I like both players I couldn't disagree more with you. Murray fails when it really matters and that's his biggest problem. I hope that Murray will win a major. then we'll talk.

I again disagree on the point that all they care about are grandslams. This is no point for Djokovic especially to concentrate on slam accomplishments.  Its not as if he's won all what is there to win and is now just burnishing his image. He is still in the presence of two players who are way ahead of him in terms of hardware. So its not a remote preposition he's facing but he's living with legends and he can't/shouldn't live the life of one now when he's not. Thats my point. Not any biased tendency against him. Why should I (When Nadal is still around  ;-()  )?. So your point about him concentrating/caring solely on slams is I guess from a tasteless deduction which I believe Djokovic himself will defiantly disagree with. You gotta accept that bud !

med, I do get your point. sure Rlog and Raf have more silver atm, but I really believe that the fact that Nole has had to compete with 2 great champions in this 'new era'  is an amazing thing. Djokovic  has had to overcome so many things... we'll see how many slams they win at the end. I'm not saying that other tournaments are not important. they are and they should be but still... like it or not, they all be remembered by how many slams they won. Can we really compare Dubai with Wimbledon? don't think so.

I've been watching tennis for a very long time. this is the most exciting era ever IMHO. Rog is still a great player. Nadal too. Murray is getting there (I hope).

I remember when Borg retired, I thought that my heart would explode. I love Borg so much. He is my ultimate tennis GOD  :).
