Alex - it was obvious at Dubai that Nole is nowhere near 100%.

well, define 100%. nobody can be at 100% all the time. was Roger at 100% all the time when he was dominating the tour. no, he wasn't. I can give you a list of players he lost to.. remember Cannas etc. I still stand with my point that Dubai is simply a 500 tournament ... we'll see what's gonna happen at RG and W.

Look at Roger in 2005 coming off his first 3-slam year. He lost to Safin @AO, Gasquet @Monte Carlo, Nadal@FO and Nalbandian@YEC. 81-4, 2 slams, 9 other titles(4 MS-1000).

Before facing Del Potro, Federer has to overcome Roanic, and Monfils.
Especially, Roanic could be prety tricky with his serve and form.

draw does look exciting..expecting the same finals as dubai..: murray vs federer..

can't say anything about nadal as i don't know his physical as well as mental position at the moment.. same about djokovic..

one of the least favourite tournaments as i have to wake up in the middle of the night to watch it !!

I hope the top 4 seeds make the SF's @ IW,but there could be some dangers along the way.Roger could face Raonic/Monfils/Potty,Murray could face Wawrinka/Isner or Fish,Isner & Fish won't be easy in the USA,Wawrinka Murray had some ups & downs with in the past.Djokovic has a good draw & the one danger early could be Anderson,i seem to recall he beat Djokovic once before.Nadal not playing Dubai should be fresh & he's got a great draw,Tsonga looks the Danger later.The draw on the hole Roger & Murray have the harder job to make the last 4 this time.

Roger is one of the finest players on clay. He grew up on the European clay courts. His clay game is as good as his hard court game if not better.

* 3 Monte Carlo titles
* 1 Rome title
* 5 Hamburg and 2 Madrid titles(only has 4 & 1)
* 6 French Opens

Just because his record against Rafa on clay is frightfully lopsided doesn't make it his worst surface. When are you guys going to accept that. None of the top 3 have a best or worst surface.

Fed is very good on clay.
He sent Djokovic home at RG last year, something I'm not sure Nadal could have done.

Players do have surfaces they play better on though Babb's.

C'mon Babbs, even the top three have their best and worst surfaces. Clay is clearly Rafa's best as is the hard courts for Nole.
