Berdych vs Nishikori. intriguing clash

That should be good DC.

The H2H has Nishikori ahead 2-0 which is intriguing too.

This is a intriguing statistic. Berdych has a best rank, but Nishikori is best in head2head.

This is my first time hearing this.  Interesting.  I'm just amazed that tennis players travel so well anyway.  Going through time zone after time zone, getting ready to play matches in the day, night, ....it's amazing how adaptive they are.

Babs, where did you find that about Dolgo? It's strange.

ONTH, few things I wanna say about Djok and Rafa. Djokaovic was supper sharp against Sepi, like a machine, very clinical. However, Rafa was bellow average. He must raise his  game if he wants to get to the final. If he meets Djokovic in the final with this type of game (moonballing, pushing,  zero agression) Djokovic will eat him alive.

I hope Rafa fans don't mind what I said but I'm just being objective based on what I've seen so far ...

From another forum, but there wasn't a link and the funny thing is, everyone ignored it  :rofl_2:

Monaco update: Juan Mónaco's MRI showed a seriously ruptured talo-fibular ligament. He is officially out for Madrid and Rome, and will see if he can do RG.

Terribly sad news  :(  I was really looking forward to seeing him in Madrid, too.

so sad ... just when Monaco started playing really well, this sh!t happened. I expected him to do so well on clay. Let's hope he will be ready for RG, altough even if gets 100%, a lack of matches will probably hurt his chances to go far at RG.

Monaco is highly doubtful for Roland Garros. so sad.
I am very upset about Ferrer losing so easily to Bellucci, he had a terrible loss to Istomin at IW, but he was 3-0 in h2h vs Belluci not dropping a set.
Melzer is also in a downfall, losing to Benneteau.
Dolgopolov with a good win vs Tomic.
tomorrow:
Kukushkin made headlines at the AO, he has already defeated Clement, Dimitrov, Mayer and Volandri, should be good opponent to Nadal.
Tsonga will easily defeat Verdasco, same with Murray vs Benneteau and Dkovovic vs Dolgopolov.
Nishikori is my favorite against Berdych.
Simon will lose against Tipsarevic. sure.
Bellucci will defeat Haase.
the tricky match to predict is Almagro vs Wawrinka, Stan has done well in this event and loves clay.
the Bryans vs the Murrays should be great. so sad this event doesn't broadcast from 3rd court, court 2.

I am very upset about Ferrer - and Nico isn't even in his half  :(

Melzer is also in a downfall, losing to Benneteau. - sell Melzer, buy Benneteau, this guy is playing the best tennis of his life.

Tsonga - Verdasco
Murray - Benneteau
Dkovovic - Dolgopolov.
Nishikori - Berdych.
Simon - Tipsarevic
Bellucci - Haase.
Almagro - Wawrinka

Interesting how different our picks are!

hoping all your picks are correct, except the one involving Nishikori, but he has not been really tested in this event, he played well against Ramos and not so much about Mathieu.
Melzer/Petzschner is one of my fav. doubles team. I think Petzschner is still injured.

Benneteau is very underrated but he made some ugly comments about Simon, saying he was overrated - jealousy.
it's quite sad that the promising french generation is getting older and have won almost nothing, no Davis Cup, no slams, just a masters series.
Tsonga 27 Paris-Bercy and 7 titles biggest Doha, Tokyo. 8-5 in finals!!
Monfils soon 26 only 4 250 titles. 4-13 in finals!!
Gasquet soon 26, 6 titles, only 1 in the last 4 seasons. 6-8 in finals
Simon, age 27, 9 titles, all 250 except 500 Hamburg. 9-2 in finals!!!!
Bennetau is 30 y.o and 0 titles. 0-6 in finals
Llodra is already 31 y.o, 5 titles, last 2 in 2010, 5-5 in finals
Chardy, 25, is in a big downfall 1 title in Stuttgart almost 3 years ago. 1-1 in finals

I read an article about Dolgopolov a while ago that confirmed this, and kinda pointed out that what Dolgopolov has accomplished so far is quite significant given this health problem - so I'm not sure how serious it is. Word is he is very prone to fatigue, light headedness and dizziness but that doesn't really explain anything about the intensity and resolution. i am not able to find this article I mentioned now :(

Interesting picks. Didn't know about Novak's grandfather. He's behind in this match now, but it's early.

I don't expect Nadal to have ANY problems in his match playing a qualifier (no matter who it is)! Lol

very sad. his grandpa was able to see him winning 5 majors and as world number 1.

pic of Nole at Wimby with grandpa Vladimir, who passed away at 83. Nole has said his grandpa was a hero to him and he was the person who “always told me to fight.” Nole will be extramotivated!

Now is an easier test for Djokovic.
