Watching Tommy on grass is priceless...
I saw most of the first set.
It sure was fun watching someone play tennis.

great tennis this grass garbage.

2 shot rallies and every 2nd or 3rd shot is either out or into the net. you people call this tennis?

some tennis we have on grass. so much tactics and strategy involved with these service games lasting 1 minute.

i watched this match but it was a complete waste of my time.

and then you weep, whine, and cry about why they tried to slow down the grass a little at wimbledon.
Yeah, you're right, sooooo much more strategy to just thump groundies for hours. :ZZZZZ)  Takes a real genius.....

Just proves that nadal can't play on REAL grass, only when it's been slowed down and baked in the sun so it plays like a clay court! He looked completely lost on this court.
Well played Phillip......

Any one notice the 4 semifinalists all have single handed backhands: Federer, Haas, Kohlschreiber and Youzhny. :// :// :// :// :// :// :// :// :// :// :// :// ://
Mere coincidence or are they better prepared to handle the low balls?

anybody knows what happened with the clay warrior doubles match?

did he skip it because of extreme fatigue?

He withdrew is all I'm hearing.

i still have no news about that but it had to be extreme fatigue.

i mean it was pretty bloody obvious. the guy is worn out that he is starting to look like a ghost.

My take on it is that he's worn out.
It's tough to play such a small event and put everything into it after such a huge win at RG.

He'll rest up, it's the best medicine at times.

i think he is back mallorca already. he said he had no energy left.

also he took everything on clay so how the hell could he have any gas left.

clay to slick grass is the hardest adjustment for a heavy topspin player. he was not able to hit much on grass so that is another factor.

but the biggest factor is extreme fatigue and no energy.

Agreed it could well be fatigue factor among other things.
Read his interview, and it seems he also had problems with very low balls, therefore hitting mostly slices.
So as I've stated earlier, I knew Nadl would have problems due to match faster court than Queens or Wimbly.

I don't believe in lack of motivation or lack of interest as far as Rafa's concerned. He's simply not that kinda player, who would give up..
He congratulated and admitted that Kohli was simply better, which after all we saw on the court.

Anyway I'm off to bed, and its nice to see you here again herc, or should I call you  Clay Death now ?  :)

2 shot rallies. yes lots of strategy and tactics involved there.

every 2 or 3rd shot into the net or out. that is certainly winning tennis.

why dont you go follow bass fishing tournaments. they are a lot easier to follow.

your god failed at RG. maybe that is why it is hard for you to open your eyes.

newcombe, johnny mac, connors, sampras were all flunkies at RG. deal with it.

now beat it.

i am looking for Fed to snatch title #75 here in halle. he should be able to blast youzhny off the court tomorrow.

it will be good for his confidence and for his preparations.

he needs to log in some serious hours on the practice courts after this title. he needs to improve the return and the backhand asap.

wimbledon approaches. draw is next friday.

who is defining anything?

all i am saying is that a 1 shot or 2 shot rally is not tennis.

in fact it is damn near nothing. who the hell would watch that?

and certainly nobody aspires to be that damned incompetent in the sport as a player.

Personally I find Karlovic and Isner game style as not real tennis. They definitely don't play tennis I like, but it would be silly not to call it tennis.
2 players who only rely on their serve and mostly winning points by ace or service winner is really boring for me to watch.
Still can't say its not tennis, but you definitely won't be far from truth if you say it has no tactic or any strategy.
99% of the time they just tank their opponents serve, only waiting to get their shiny-left-foot-by-the-baseline-

Now that I can understand someone doesn't like it.
But herc honestly, calling that short rallies don't involve tactics and strategy its just wrong. It takes actually much more strategy, considering almost every shot is forced error.

Now, why do I prefer short rallies? I enjoy watching aggressive players, and when they play on clay, most of the time they lose because they become very impatient on the long rallies causing A LOT OF UE's.
