Poor effort. :thumb-down:

djokovic's forehand has been crap for most part of this match.......his serve hasn't been good either........federer on the other hand has not served one poor game after that break in second set.......

this match so reminiscent of roland garros 2011.......nothing more needs to be said.......it also  looks like federer suddenly finds that strength the moment he sees that nadal is no longer in the tournament........

So Federer has chance to regain NO.1 and put more number on his grand slam record. I though his back injure will cause him some problem on his serve and forehand.

You can't fatigue Nole physically in 6 hours, but you can fatigue him mentally in under 2 and a half. Too bad today's players are clones. Change pace on them and we get a whole new final.

OMG Shank... you always have to put Nadal in your conversations don't you?? :))

Anyway, Fed came through RG SFs last year didn't he? and Nadal was waiting in the finals... mmmmm.....

Anyway, maybe you are just mad and grumpy cause it seems Fed has a good chance at his 17th. GS and Nadal won't be able to keep up.. LOL

Either way I'm happy Fed came through and demonstrated that at his 31 years old you can't sill count him out of a Grand Slam!!

You all need to stop talking about what Nadal "would have done". He was out in the 2nd round so give it a rest. I said yesterday that ANYTHING can happen. All of you here (including some Federer fans) said he didn't stand a chance. I'm just glad they have to play the match on court and not just on paper!!!! Lol

Uh...where is Alex, by the way? Lol I'm happy. At least Roger has put himself in a position to win another slam. That's all I wanted!!! Now let's see if he can deliver on Sunday!!!

From what I understand, if Roger  win on Sunday, he takes over no 1 and would be guaranteed to hold it for at least 2 weeks (due to the Olympics) so he could break Pete's record. But he had to WIN it on Sunday.

well i just wanted to emphasize the point that the moment nadal is out of the equation, the balance seems to be heavily titled in favour of this swiss who has always been good at taking what's been handed to him (by nadal)........his last 3 slams have come that way and djokovic just put up a pathetic mental effort today, ran with the flow like a clueless teenager........i certainly did not expect that from him........being the defending champion and world no.1, he showed hardly any maturity that a world no.1 normally possesses........

that's why nadal is important in this era........he is the one who fills the dents created by djokovic, murray, del potro and holds this era together all on his own........he is the one who taught the world federer's limits and exposed the era wide open........

that is the reason why djokovic will never be like nadal and even federer will never be like nadal........they both are momentum players while nadal is the great balancing personality in this era.......

of course i don't like fed to win 17 as that would make rafa's job slightly difficult but i won't be all that bothered either........nadal is nadal, he can never be counted out until he actually retires from the sport.......

Tsonga has to keep the points short, too. He can but I suspect hello be much more nervous than Murray and will play back/scared.

As a Nole fan, I'm absolutely gutted that he has lost the match, but I have got to give Roger credit for his performance. The crucial moment was at 4-4 in the third set, when Nole had a break point, Roger saved it and went on to break to win the last game of the set. You just knew at this point,  that the momentum was with Roger.

I think it helped that the match went at such a quick pace as well because Nole would have come into it and won if this hadn't happened, or if he had won the third set. Nole didn't cause Roger enough trouble off his serve either and it was a relatively easy fourth set for him. I think Roger wanted it more with all the past defeats and the two and a half year wait for another slam. Well done to Roger, apologies for my poor predicting skills, and I hope for Roger and all his fans that he wins Wimbledon, making it 17 slams and a return to world number one.  :)

"Sometimes it feels like you're not on a tennis court, the amount of noise you guys produce and for us it's a great feeling. It's a pleasure playing in front of you. It's my great privilege to be standing here in front of one of the greatest players ever, Rod Laver. "

Wow!  I never knew that Federer could beat Djokovic every again in a Grand Slam.  Good for old guy Federer!  There is hope for all of use now!  He going to be very tired when he plays in the finals.  Hopefully, it will be Murray and he will win his first GS.  But they say that Ferderer is still in tip top shape.

Sunday we will know what is what.  I neutral in this matter since I am pulling for Lendl as a coach and Federer too.
