Respect = no whining about Wimbledon weather

I've been afraid to peek at any tennis forum since it's been raining because tennis fans are such but I'm impressed. No about the weather.

Anyway, Isner predictably tanks against a guy who grew up on clay. People think his game is suited for the grass and that he'll be a beast, but it isn't and he won't be.

Anyway, Isner predictably tanks against a guy who grew up on clay. People think his game is suited for the grass and that he'll be a beast, but it isn't and he won't be.

Word on the street is his Gram passed last week and they were quite close.  Twas with a heavy heart that he came and played.  It was obvious that the desire wasn't there this time.

Rain is great.  Gives me a chance to catch up on paperwork instead watching 4 matches at once.

Nole looked very solid. even when down 0:40 he somehow finds a way to come back. just amazing. Harrison is good, and he tried so hard but it wasn't good enough. he actually played a good match. the problem with these youngsters, is that they simply can not play big points very well and that's what separates top 3 divas from the rest of the field. I still don't understand how Djokovic can stay so composed and cool when playing these big points. It's really beyond me.

but seriously, Djokovic plays these big points like nobody I've ever seen. and no, I'm not saying this as his fan .... just when you think, it's over, 2 sets down, a break down, match points for his opponents .... the Serbian freak comes back ... and somehow finds the way to win

Thanks monster. I've been out of town and disconnected from tennisworld for a week. That explains a lot. I think John will do alright at the USO, perhaps inspired by his Gran.

Did not see the match; but it seems that Ryan Harrison 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 was very respectable!  From the score; he must of improve greatly since last year to get a match result so close against the number one player in the world Nowak Djokovic.  American has some players that are up and comers!

not sure where they are coming from, not sure about 'up and coming thing too  , but Nole was toying with Ryan. Djokovic  came to the net 40 times in this match. I've seen almost all of his matches and I don't remember Nole coming to the net 40 times in his whole career  .  It felt like was practicing his stuff

I have been out all day, but have been catching bits and pieces of the matches.  I'm at home now and regardless of what the final score is in the Rosol/Nadal match - I'm impressed with Rosol (at least in this match).  I thought he would go away after he lost the 1st set, but he's hung in there so far.  Interesting.

This guy seems to be letting Nadal back into it.  Bummer for him.  This is a few points away from 5 sets.  6-2 to Nadal in the fifth is my prediction.

It was just interesting to see a 5th set on the men's side (from one of the big 3).  Glad it wasn't Roger!
