It is hard to predict how long can Federer stay on top in this year. Djokovic has good chance to back No.1 in end this year. To do it, firstly he has to defence all points he got start now to US open. That is 3600 points. Then, he can go to Beijing Open and Shanghai Open to gain free point because he is injured and pulled out. The the last three tournaments Swiss Indoor, Paris Master, ATP World Final, he didn't do well. Federer has 3000 points to defence in these tournaments, and he has 560 points. I will be very surprised to see Federer finish end of this year as World No.1 and tie Sampras record.
Mount Rushmore has been revised to reflect reality.

another title in the absence of nadal.......
I'm reposting this here because I might want to revisit this discussion later this year.Quote from: mav140 on August 19, 2012, 01:22:47 PMQuote from: Start da Game on August 19, 2012, 01:02:01 PManother title in the absence of nadal.......Just LOL... Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk 2I'll say this much about his comment. This year was shaping up to be Roger's greatest year of his career. That's why reaching #1 when he did and the way he did it trumps every thing he did in 2005 or 2006. But, like always, a top player falls out of the race due to injury. That said, the slop he was whipping up on in those years couldn't hold a candle to Nole and Murray, so it still may prove to be just that. It's just a shame Rafa couldn't stay healthy this year.
I'll take Murray every time over a part-time Hewitt, Ferrero, Coria, Safin, Haas, and Nalbandian. Are you kidding me?!?!!
...This year was shaping up to be Roger's greatest year of his career....
I think he's playing more efficient tennis. How he stays mentally fresh is beyond me.
the moment nadal is out of the scene, federer finds the strength of 1000 lions........his mind is free without any scares and the rest of the game just starts flowing........all that repressed aggression is out at once and makes him more than a force to reckon with........djokovic (and murray) has the game to defeat him but they are just not as big as nadal when it comes to staying tough and thinking on the court........also, djokovic looks very beatable this year........he is back to his 1.0 version........

Ah yes, everything in Federer's mind revolves around Nadal. Surely especially after that US Open loss to Novak, the FIRST thing in his mind was Nadal too!
He never remeber that Federer said he want to back No.1 since 2010. 2010 is Nadal's year and 2011 is Djokovic's year.
