If you are going to dig into the SF match-ups, might as well add in Djokovic def. Federer @ 2012 RG SF and Nadal def. Federer @ 2012 AO SF. Good times!!

And how awesome would it be if Murray wins the USO and then we can add things like Murray def. X @ 2012 USO F and the other semi final matchups involving him and extend the top 3 to the top 4.

its been an amazing year so far..so many exciting moments..the three GS finals have been exciting..though nothing in comparison to the aus open 2012 finals.. ;-()



Lets hope the race changes from top3 to top 4 again !! :)

australian open 2012 was a great final but again it ended with a donation.......it is still a great final nonetheless........

to make it more special, the draw for the olympics will take place on July 26.
all matches, best of the 3 sets, except the final:  best of 5 sets.

Murray at home can not tank like he did against Lu in 2008 for what I tihnk was later and still is his best chance to win a major: USO 2008.
Nadal, at that time, was the opposite, the major was in Beijing and not in NY. let's see this year.
It's now or never for the golden career slam of Roger. While Djokovic must answer after two big disappointments.

I agree. As was the semifinal between Murray and Djokovic. I wasn't sure if we wanted to dig below the top 4, assuming we can get Murray to win a grandslam, preferably beating 2 of the big three, then we'd have a lot of combinations of wins and losses at the top. Berdych match was great though, as was the Tsonga match in the quarters against Djokovic at RG.

If the top 4 would be within distance (ranking-wise) at a major it would be absolutely fantastic for fans... Going at it to get the top spot would be amazing!

that was one hell of a match........nadal got an incorrect overrule from the chair and that cost him the first set and then he was under the gun in the second set as well........it was high intensity stuff from berdych........

I agree. As was the semifinal between Murray and Djokovic. I wasn't sure if we wanted to dig below the top 4, assuming we can get Murray to win a grandslam, preferably beating 2 of the big three, then we'd have a lot of combinations of wins and losses at the top. Berdych match was great though, as was the Tsonga match in the quarters against Djokovic at RG.

No, we don't want to dig below the Top 3.

Every year produces amazing matches. But this season is remarkable and stands alone for the reasons I've noted. In that respect, it's unique.

Yup, I remember that incorrect rule, but Rafa didnt complain much and played amazing tennis. Berdych tried everything he could, but I gained more respect for Rafa for his unbelievable tennis.

back on topic....

i completely expect nadal and djokovic to take the center stage at the us open and play another final there........i expect them to blow the field en route to the final........

whoever said nadal - djokovic finals are boring need to think again........if at all there is anything great left this year, it's a grandslam final between these two great players........

wimbledon has been a crap indoor event completely benefiting federer........nadal would still have found a way but he was busy with eurocup........

i think it is about time we had real slam semifinals and final again........bring on us open........
