i have not heard anything new on that front.
he is supposed to be resting for about 15 days or so with no tennis activity.
you can still hit the ball if you are driven  enough and determined enough. and you dont have to move much in practice if you dont want to.

What's the deal with the medals?

Here's what I found:
 

• Gold and silver medals are 92.5% silver.
   
• Gold medals must be plated with at least 6 grams of gold.
   
• All Olympic medals must be at least 3 mm thick and at least 60 mm in diameter.
• Bronze medals are bronze, an alloy of copper and usually tin.
  It's worth noting that gold, silver, and bronze medals have not always been awarded.
  At the 1896 Olympic Games, the winners were awarded silver medals, whiile the runners-up got bronze medals.
   
  The winners at the 1900 Olympics received trophies or cups instead of medals. The custom of awarding gold, silver, and bronze medals started at the 1904 Olympics.
  After the 1912 Olympics the gold medals have been gilded silver rather than real gold.
   
  Although the Olympic gold medal is more silver than gold, there are gold medals that are really gold, such as the Congressional Gold Medal and Nobel Prize Medal.
   
  Before 1980 the Nobel Prize medal was made from 23 carat gold. Newer Nobel Prize medals are 18 carat green gold plated with 24 carat gold.

Here's how it breaks down:
 
a gold medal is made of 550 grams of silver covered with 6 grams of gold,
 
a silver medal is made of 41 grams of copper and 509 grams of silver,
 
and a bronze medal is made of a mix of mostly copper with some tin and zinc.
 
This means that in today's market a gold medal is worth approx $494,
 
a silver medal $260,
 
and a bronze medal just $3.

I'm hoping for a great run by an "outsider"!!  It would make this year even more interesting if someone other than the usual suspects wins the gold  medal.   

But then again, none of the remaining top players have won the gold medal either & it would be wonderful  for Djokovic / Federer / Murray to win it too.

So basically, I hope anyone can win it. And someone most likely will do so! Great stuff!

I'm hoping for a great run by an "outsider"!!  It would make this year even more interesting if someone other than the usual suspects wins the gold  medal.   

But then again, none of the remaining top players have won the gold medal either & it would be wonderful  for Djokovic / Federer / Murray to win it too.

So basically, I hope anyone can win it. And someone most likely will do so! Great stuff!   

I guess Tsonga can go far, only problem is that his form isn't that good right now. Leastwise not that good like in last year. Or Berdych too, they have chance every time.

Fed has made the finals of the last 7 3/set/grass tournaments he's played. This record is enough to get him a silver. However a gold medal is the last ingredient for his reaction to complete !!

Because Nadal is out, Murray is the only trojan. Hopefully the draw will be such that Ferrer drops in Fed's half and Murray in Djokovic's. Let them kill themselves.

Don't give up on Berdych, sooner  or later he will find his form. Never knows, maybe not now and not even in this year but he'll come back.
