Yes and no.
Bolelli's no slouch, but.....Florian has been playing a fair amount of tennis as of late and may have been caught out by a lower ranked player.

Indeed, but Bolelli is one of the most inconsistent guys on tour. Huge talent, YES. But I've been waiting for far too long for him to start playing consistently. Don't remember when was last time he won so many matches in a row, after winning challenger recently.

Maybe this is finally his time...

You are right.  I like Bolelli, but he's really hard to "like".  He'll play great one match, then play like a beginner the next.  Very inconsistent!

My question...why are the players who are playing in the Olympics, playing this tournament?   :confused1:

Oh! Good grief!   Gulbis out to ........... Dutra Silva!!  Who he?  Anyway, fair enough.
Hasse & Kohlshreiber still there & I pick these two for the final. Which is probaly a nail in the coffin for them but there we are!   :)  Kohlshreiber can play excellent tennis, and his game is eminently watchable.  But Haase is a favourite of mine. I hope he plays well.
I see Bollelli is competing with Gulbis - consistency is obviously for nerds & these 2 are too sexy for such boring things.
Klizan? Who he?

Just watching Kohlshreiber / Volandri.  PK lost the first set but is playing very well in the second set. having broken FV twice to go up 3-0. This will likely be a 3rd setter.

EDIT  -  PK took the 2nd set 6-2 & never let go the momentum. He has such a business like demeanour, and when in the mood, plays clean strokes. Good stuff to win it 6-2 in the third set.  FV looked tired in the third set.

I know nothng about Klizan. But I'll be watching, as RH is entertaining when he feels like it.

I didn't know anything about Klizan until Hamburg where he faced Tommy in the 1st Round. Well losing 6-2 6-1, as natural clay courter wasn't something really inspiring  :)~

But week after he did beat Bolelli  :\

Thanks for your comment on Klizan LUGBURZ.    I saw the first few games but had to deal with real life & when I came back, it was over!  I see that the PK / RH final looms large. Should be good.

CERMAK/KNOWLE SAVE 4 M.P. TO CAPTURE KITZBÜHEL TITLE OVER BROWN/HANLEY

Top seeds Frantisek Cermak and Julian Knowle completed a dramatic comeback on Saturday to clinch the bet-at-home Cup Kitzbühel doubles title.

Cermak and Knowle, playing their first doubles final together since 2002 Umag, saved four match points in the Match tie-break to defeat second seeds Dustin Brown and Paul Hanley 7-6(4), 3-6, 12-10 in one hour and 42 minutes.

Brown and Hanley led 8-3 in the Match tie-break and had three match point opportunities at 9-5. Cermak and Knowle could not convert their match point chance at 10-9, but sealed victory at 11-10.

Cermak and Knowle split €19,660 in prize money and earn 250 ATP Doubles Team Rankings points, while Brown and Hanley share €10,330 and 150 points.

"This is like a dream come true," said Knowle, a Vienna resident. "I still remember playing the first singles match on the opening day of the Center Court here about 20 years ago. I lost [against Christian Saceanu] after having several match points.

"Today it was the opposite and I’m very happy that we made it. We were the lucky ones in the Match tie-break. One or two points decided the match. I really enjoyed the week. The atmosphere was great, the weather too and this week is very special to me here in Kitzbühel."

Watched by his one-year-old daughter Alicia, Knowle said, "When she was six weeks old she came to a Challenger, which we won too. Maybe she could come with me more often."

Cermak is now 28-20 in tour-level finals, while Knowle improved to 14-17 in title matches. Brown dropped to 2-2 and Hanley to 26-22 in finals.

HAASE RETAINS KITZBÜHEL TITLE

Dutchman Robin Haase retained his bet-at-home Cup Kitzbühel title on Saturday in a rain-interrupted final against Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany.

Third seed Haase improved to 9-0 lifetime at the ATP World Tour 250 clay-court tournament with a 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-2 victory over top seed Kohlschreiber in two hours and eight minutes.

By capturing his second ATP World Tour title, Haase won €64,700 in prize money and 250 South African Airways ATP Ranking points. Kohlschreiber, who is now 4-3 lifetime in title matches, received €34,080 and 150 points. On Monday, Kohlschreiber will make his debut in the Top 20 of the South African Airways ATP Rankings.

Kohlschreiber was the dominant player in the first set, but could not convert any of his six break point opportunities. He held his nerve in the tie-break, before a heavy rain shower suspended play for more than one hour.

Upon the resumption, World No. 42 Haase dropped eight points on his serve in the second set, before taking an early lead in the decider. Kohlschreiber fought hard, saving five of seven break points, but Haase’s greater firepower helped him to his 18th match win of the season. Last year, the 25 year old beat Albert Montanes for the title.

Both players will now travel to London for the Olympic Games Tennis Event, which is underway at the All England Club, Wimbledon. Haase will play No. 16 seed Richard Gasquet of France, while Kohlschreiber is set to face Slovenian Blaz Kavcic.
