honest to God, when I saw the draw, I was like wtf ... the least balanced draw in tennis history ... Fed has a cakewalk till semis (I'd even go as far as saying, no way he is not reaching the final), Nole is f.ucked, again and again .... whatever. yeah, right draws are not rigged  :zipped:

Roger has had problems in the past with a lot of those players on his side of the draw though.  AND, with this being 'best-of-three'...anyone can get 'hot' for 2 sets, so it's not really a cakewalk for anyone.  Falla would have beaten Roger at Wimbledon that time if it was best of 3. :innocent:  So...everyone has to be 'on top' right from the get go - especially Roger!

it looks like alex is still not over his wimbledon disappointment........djokovic is angry, alex........i say watch out for him this time........he is angry for two things........that missed overhead against nadal in olympics 2008 and his recent wimbledon semis loss........

I don't think Kohlschreiber will perform well. He is currently playing Kitzbuhl on clay. How Tha Bleepers, can this fella prepare properly for the Wimbledon grass?

maybe he feels he hasn't hit many balls and chose to practice on clay for olympics?

He has been around a while...he may be playing too much though.  He's not a 'young gun' anymore. :rofl_2:  We will see.

he is a fading out old gun, that's for sure........

Shank, I'm not angry ... maybe cranky is the right word (plus I have some personal crap to deal with, so maybe it's kind of related to my general crankiness these days   :\) ... that missed overhead against Rafa is history right now ... but, seriously, look at the draw .... OK, I refuse to whine .... If Novak is good enough, he'll win, if not, well it's too bad.

i think djokovic is going to thrash whoever is in his path to the finals........he is sort of angry going into this event.........he said he was not 100% for that semis........

I don't remember him saying that.  Maybe Alex can shed some light.  In fact, earlier in the tournament Novak had been wearing a blue tape on his arm.  However, in that SF, he didn't even have that on.

There was some talk of Nole not being fully fit after the match. Some Nole fans said that it looked like he had the flu. Even Nole said something vaguely in his presser.

Q.  Youíve been so consistently strong over the last year and a half.  Was there any particular reason why you didnít feel as sharp as you were on that second ball?  Did you feel good coming into today?

NOVAK DJOKOVIC:  Not so great really.  I had bad last couple days.  Last five, six days I wasnít feeling great.  But I donít want to talk about it now.

Prediction: (Winner)

MS: Roger in his element. Grass court. he will win the gold to complete all his achievement. (Novak had the best chance beside ROger to win gold here)

WS: Can anyone stop Serena ? Maybe only herself.

MD : Though many of expert predict the Bryan twins win the gold, I do not think so. There are so many top singles players playing doubles and they had as good chance to win the gold as the usual doubles players. Its really depend on who play the best will win the gold here. I will not surprise if Ferrer/Lopez (assuming it Feliciano Lopez) or Isner/Roddick can win gold here.

Fed/ wawrinka did it 4 years ago by beating the best doubles players from QF to final.  So you never know.

WD: 99% Williams sisters will win this.

XD : This is also hard to predict. Need to see the draw first. But so far Bryan/Raymond had the best chance to win the gold. But again any very strong singles players can win this gold.

tennis definitely takes a complete backseat for me in the olympics...there's tons of other sports that I get to watch only once in a blue moon, I'll be watching them. Tennis is too individualistic for olympics.

Just as well, as Petshner actually plays something that resembles tennis.

As for the Olympic Games - over-hyped waste of resources at a time when Britain has a child poverty level of almost 50%.  The patronising gits who govern us have allowed the event to go overbudget by some obscene amount, whilst ordinary people are lectured to about "tightening their belts" & suffer cutbacks "for the good of the country."

That said, I shall enjoy going to Wimbledon next week to get a further fix of the Beautiful Game.
Hypocrisy is after all, synonymous with our democracy.  Hip! Hip! Hurrah!

I can't. I'll be tightening my belt!   :rofl_2:

As for the tennis here, there seems to be a relaxed atmosphere, with many players also playing doubles.  Given that the event will be completed in just over a week, that's a lot of tennis for some to play.  Should be good fun for us spectators though.

Go with your intuition Mr. Dallas.. here would be good, I think. I know my post was not entirely tennis Olympics in response to general shanks :)

But for "some reason"  ;-() Dallas' Bullet Bob sprung to mind :)

Respectfully,
