i am loving the tennis4you sports bar. great place to break the ice so to speak and to meet and mingle in a relaxed atmoshpere/environment.

i think the potential is there for it to become popular over time. all we have to do is make sure that we keep stopping by for a drink daily and never miss a chance to say hello to the others.

looks scott, general masterclass, ashwin, oracle, me, swish, shanks, arkulari, general javier the fearless, ben, tiger tim, lugburz, monster, and all of our fellow sports fans have been doing a good job of this and its paying off.

we are here daily and it only takes a few seconds to stop by and say hello to the others.

Do these chat threads just go on forever or do you ever break off and create another?  Page 4000, here we come!

Mr. Baker, typically, at close to 5000 posts we start a new volume (thread) and have the admin/mod close the last one.  Then in every new volume thread, we include a link reference to the older volume threads.  But the 5000 posts # for closing each volume's thread is arbitrary.   It could be done sooner.

Respectfully,
masterclass

i agree, let's close the threats at 2000 posts or something so that we can increase the volumes........we can bulk up the volumes like crazy........

How about closing them at designated times, we can track posting rate that way.

Say every 2 months.
:coffee:

On another note I tried some 'new' green tea, it has bergamot in it(a type of orange).
I can hardly drink it, nasty stuff but I have 20 tea bags of it so have to drink it.  :thumb-down:

General Swish, if this thread gets hot as it sometimes can get, we can get 300-500 posts/day!!  This can happen especially during a Slam tournament.
I think General Hercules can tell you that sometimes the post count can even be higher.  Granted we don't have the big traffic here yet.. but we are growing.

Respectfully,
masterclass

yeah that would be good too.......as for tea, black tea from darjeeling is the best tasting tea and is also good for health........green tea is the best if you can get used to the taste........

mimi hates green tea as well. she says it has a nasty taste.

she comes back from her vacation tomorrow by the way.

Usual green tea does have a somewhat acquired taste but it can be doctored up with coconut milk and sugar. I like the purported benefits.

Fed has also said that for anyone to beat him they will have to do domething special.
He is emboldened, has the eye of a tiger etc.

I checked the hurricane status in your area Herc, it seems you will get the outer edge of it.

Howdy STG, what's your USO outlook?

gen swish, we know his source of strength for such remarks........he thinks he can beat anyone once nadal is out of equation but i say this time it's not going to be easy to take out murray........should be an exciting tournament........

Fed feels great about his game and Nadal not being there is another great boost, this is two things he has going for him this year that he didn't have last year.

The negative is that he has to go through both Murray and Djokovic on consecutive days if the seeds hold up.

what do you think of del potro? his wrist should be fine........can he challenge djokovic? that is the match i am most looking forward to........

You would think that he can't, but matches they've had before weren't as straightforward as you would think.
DelPo hangs with Djokovic pretty well.

I'm hoping DelPo takes him out in dramatic fashion(sorry Alex) and thereby announcing his return to top flight tennis.

i think he will beat djokovic this time........it will most probably be a night match so he will hang tough........these fast courts also boost his groundstrokes, so i think he can beat djokovic........

a fact often forgotten - del potro is the only player apart from fed to beat djokovic in 2011 in a best of 5 sets match.......

There's some good results coming back from black tea healthwise, I may try a combination.
Right now I combine coffee and green tea so may add black tea to this regimen in addition.

nole looks beatable, hercs........fed is good enough to make the semis but murray will be tough as hell this time........i think it's really between del potro and murray........hopefully d pot is fit for this tournament.......we could see a del potro vs murray final........

winds at 65 mph and moving at 18 mph. it should be in the gulf pretty rapidly at this rate.

officials in louisiana are already touring areas prone to being affected by hurricanes.

thousands without power in lee county, florida already.

all the signs are there for it strengthen significantly.

Once it passes over south Florida it will travel over the gulf, that's where it's expected to gain strength.

i am pretty much right on the gulf here. it is 7 miles away from my home. i will have to pack up and head north if it is headed here. we will know more by tomorrow night.

current computer models have it hitting between louisiana and alabama. and that probably means here on the mississippi gulf coast.
