andy murray is shaking and baking at the olympics. d-pot vs nishikori to come. should be interesting.

nole vs tsonga and fed vs isner are blockbuster battles.

it is fixing to get quite interesting.

Hello general hercules.

Looks like another Federer - Murray final coming, though I was hoping for Federer - Djokovic.

If it is Federer-Murray for gold/silver, then Djokovic and Del Potro will play for the bronze. If only Del Potro had Isner's serve... at over 2 meters tall, he really should.

Looks like Nadal has taken interest in non-sporting activity while he rests his knees.

He seems pretty serious about it...

Nadal confirms on his facebook page that he is withdrawing from  Toronto.
What a shame. Let's hope he has a speedy recovery.  Tennis doesn't seem the same without him in the mix.   :blue:

Hi all, wanted to let you know that I won't be playing Toronto this year. I am not ready to play and I hope to be back in 2014 at that great tournament that has always treat me very well. I am continuing with my recup and practice. Thanks!

hola general masterclass. waz shaking.

i had gone to new orleans for business. just now getting back.

i think fed is on track for a gold medal. he has that wimbledon title and he is confident on grass. he is hard to stop if he gets that serve going and is attacking the net at will.

i see that news about the clay warrior. thanks for posting the most recent info. it does not look good for him at the moment. he has to find a way to change his training and his scheduling otherwise he can just sit on the sidelines and watch as others compete and take trophies home.

Of course it could happen general herc. :) Nole is #2 in the world after all and close behind.  From watching both Wimbledon's this year, I think Murray's form is a bit better than Nole's on grass and the match could be similar to Murray's win over Djokovic this year on the fairly fast courts of Dubai. Still, if Andy is off even a little bit, and Nole is on, it could easily go the other way. If they are both playing fairly well, I think Murray will snatch it.

As far as the final goes, if it's Djokovic in the final, I think Federer will win.

If Murray makes it to the final, I think Murray has a shot to win in 4 sets. Federer won the Wimbledon Championships already.  It would be nice for Murray to finally win something at Wimbledon for Great Britain.

He has an excellent chance to snatch it general.  And should it happen, I'll be updating it for sure.

I think the surface will favor Murray a little.
Murray can move on the grass very well.
Djokovic will lose that very fast first step some, the surface will not have enough traction for him.

On the other hand Djokovic has a very consistent and powerful ground game, a little better than Murray's IMO.
Djokovic will need his serve to be clicking as will Murray.

It'll probably just come down to the "on the day" form they bring.

Federer

Del Potro

Gulbis

Janowicz

Novak Djokovic has a tough road to haul following the Olympics.  He defends the Canada title - 1000 points. If he makes it to the final at the Olympics, he'll have no rest for Toronto, as he'll be flying with the medal back to Serbia, and then straight back to Toronto.  The pressure will definitely be on him to win in Toronto. I can't see him skipping that tournament.  Then Cincinnati is the following week - again, no rest. He defends 600 points there, and then a week's rest and the US Open where he defends the title.  Then there is Davis Cup.

Federer will likely skip Toronto as he only defends 90 points there, and start his hard court season in Cincinnati, especially if he does better at the Olympics than Djokovic.

affirmative general mc, general swish.

nole has a lot on his plate indeed. he is also defending quite a few points (600) in cincy as you have suggested.

and then the big slam is just 24 days away now.

murray is still saddled with his old problem:

1. he tightens up in really big matches

2. he finds it hard to be aggressive against fed and nole. they wont let him bring the fight to them. and to make matters worse, murray is not aggressive and assault oriented by nature.
